I do......LOTS of them. I have cards that i send to family and friends and then different cards that I send to my clients. I have friends that make cards but not ready to tackle that yet. Do you think it's a waste of time and money or do you think people really like rec'g cards? I'm thinking about just sending e-cards. Postage is so expensive!

I make about 60 or 70 cards every year to send out.

I love to get cards too!

I do, mostly to family that lives in different parts of the country. I love just letting them know we are thinking of them at holiday time. :flower:

I send them out. I get pics of the kids and send them. This year its a family shot.

I send out cards. while I send out ecards occasionally, there is still nothing like the personal touch that goes with a handwritten card. :flower:

We still send Christmas cards...I love this tradition and don't think an e-card has quite the same holiday feel. We're very excited this year because it will be our first year to send out photo cards with a picture of our daughter.

Always send out cards and love getting them, especially the ones that have a picture.

Just got mine in from being printed (kids pics on front) - I have always sent out around 50 and receive around 20 or so. Ecards are a great way to keep in touch and I post lots of pictures online but Christmas is a time to send something real not a link (IMO).

I have been writing/making my own Christmas cards for 14 years. This year's was very complex (library pocket, ribbons, paper clip, staples, handmade epoxy stickers) and I had to do 125 of them!!! :earseek: It was a lot of work, but I just put the last stamp on about an hour ago. Everyone looks forward to getting them and I look forward to the ones we receive. When I was little, growing up in the Army in Germany, it was so special to get cards from "the States" and we hung them on our entry door, so I do that now. After the holidays, we carefully take them down and put them in a basket to enjoy all year. The following year, we save the extra-special ones in a scrapbook, and take the covers off the rest to use for crafts or to donate to scout troops, classrooms, etc to use for various projects. My DDs are SO anxious for Thanksgiving to be over so we can start looking for cards in the mail. Yes, it's time-consuming and can be expensive, but I look at it as a personal ministry...what I've written over the years has always touched people in a special way and I frequently get, "Thanks, I needed that" in response.

I send homemade cards out. My DD helps out with the stuffing, adding her pic and the licking of envelopes (gotta love little kids for that :goodvibes ).
I do agree that I send more out then I get back but I always receive positive comments about them. We stamp and then chalk cards usually. I make 2 designs, one religious and one fun. Never too difficult though.

graygables - can we see a pic? Your cards sound wonderful.

but this year I am cutting back to people I will not see for the holidays. I am thinking of making a few, Grandma, my Aunt in NY, Uncles In Pa....not sure if I will get the time with all that is going on here, but I will send out store bought if nothing else....its important to me to say I love you to family and friends far away.

We usually send out between 75 - 100. My husband is retired military, so we have friends all over the world. I like receiving cards much better than sending them, but to receive one must first give, so give we do! Last year, it was cards from our trip on the Magic. This year, I just bought something generic and inexpensive. We usually write a letter too.

I love receiving cards. However, I'm one of the world's worst about sending them. We do the Holiday Photo every year, and I address the cards. Then, they sit and sit on the hall table, waiting for me to mail them.

We ususally send at least 60....and the ones we receive, we hang up on a door, so we can look at them all the time....it's one of my favorite "decorating" things!!

I still send out cards also. We didn't get very many last year, but we have a big mirror in our dining area that I like to frame with the ones we get.

I'm a card sender.
Yes we don't recieve cards back from all of those people that I had sent to, but it's a nice way to tell them that we are thinking of them this holiday season from our family to theirs.
Next year, the price of postage is going up.

Yep me too I make about 60-70 each year. Simple home made ones with pictures. Love getting them as well. I take the pictures and scrap a page in my christmas album. Just got my first card today!

Don't make them but I do take a family picture on Thanksgiving and then make them into cards each year. guess we send out about 5o and could easily do more!

i send cards out! and i love getting them in the mail also! we always look for them in our mailbox! it's nice to get them, instead of holiday catalogs/junk mail/bills/etc. we make a "garland" out of the ones we receive, and that's our decorations right by our entry way, against the wall. and the ones we get w/pix...we put them up in one of those picture holder kinda thing, and it sits on our mantel. another decoration to add to our holiday "decor". :flower:

Just sent mine out today. We get the Christmas tree, decorate and send out cards the day after thanksgiving.
