The peace of mind knowing there's a princess spot just for you is priceless! I can't believe the jump yesterday...from 87% to 94% capacity. Wow!
Hope you had a great run! My early morning run was cancelled as Jen has a stomach bug but I will be going solo some time today to make up for it. It looks to be a beautiful day!
Yesterday's run almost didn't happen. I was at a meeting, sharing the hotel treadmills with a bunch of other people, and when I went down at 5:30am only one of them was working! Managed to squeeze my time in and glad I did. I was whipped last night when I got home - would have been tough working up the motivation to get on the treadmill then.
The 94% scared me this morning when a friend who's doing the race msgd me to let me know.
So i panicked and booked my place!
I'll be doing it alone, and coming from Ireland for it! People will think Im mad but I dont care.
Its someth to motivate and train for and achieve!!
Fantastic - congratulations!! And what a commitment! You will be so glad you made it.
Absolutely! I love my family, but when I'm racing, I'm in race mode, not have fun with the family mode. I want lots of alone time, the ability to get up and dressed at a ridiculous hour without worrying about waking anyone, and the knowledge that I can skip the parks entirely in favor of relaxation after the race. I'm meeting a friend for TOT, but am otherwise solo for TOT, WDW 1/2 and the GSC.
Yay, congrats on pushing the button! You can do it![]()
So are you going to get dressed into a costume? I think I'm going to do a tutu, but the rest will be typical running gear.
(and might I add, this particular Irish-American found Ireland a lovely place to visit in 2007 and is looking to go back)
I visited about 15 years ago and would love to get back, too. So gorgeous.

Did you find opportunities to meet other women racing alone in the Race Retreat?
When I'm in my own car and can pack stuff in a cooler, I do great. But eating healthy while traveling with my reps? Gets a little more challenging sometimes, and it definitely affects my workouts. Got my Galloway conditioning training in tonight (Week 3 - 10 min warmup, then 21 minutes 10 second run / 50 second walk, then 10 min cooldown), and felt good that I'd done it, but still tough.
