Does anyone remember Flaky Puffs or Puff Pies..They were made by Hostess in the 80's and boy were they good.

A yummy treat that got by me?!?! No, never heard of them but could sure go for one about now. ;)

I thought I knew all the 80's treats! Those names dont ring any bells.

I think they had apple, blueberry, and strawberry...the blueberry were the best..I could eat a whole box by myself..lol..thanks for the memory!

The Flaky Puffs were strawberry or chocolate with a cream layer on a sort of square puff...The Puff pies had the flavors you mention, plus lemon with creamy filling

Blueberry were the best---Nope sorry STRAWBERRY was the best! I was saying to DH a little while ago how much I missed them! The flaky pastry strawberry and cream...ooohhh now i really miss them and realize those choc chip cookies I just made were a lousy munchie :guilty:

Ok I'll give it my best

Picture a 4x4 square made from fillo dough---they lay down the fillo dough fill it with cream like from a creme horn and strawberry sauce.

Oh lord I can see them and smell them---Jen look what you did! :rotfl:

Sounds very interesting and very tastey. Since Hostess made them, right? Would it be the cream from like a ho ho? They werent in the fridge right? I'm thinking my area must not have had them cause THAT I would have remembered, its a favorite combo!

Thanks for the description! :thumbsup2

No.It was Hostess..It may very well have been a regional test that failed or something

Wasn't there another kind also---Pick em ups I believe---I was in Mass also and used to get them from the Wonder bread outlet

I wish DH was awake. He worked grocery (well actually, dairy/frozen food) during that time. I did too, but later 80's.

Where in MA were you at that time? I lived in Blackstone & was driving to college in Worcester & then to work in Framingham in the afternoon, then back home. 70 miles a day. So who knows where I saw them. lol

Found old hostess info.
Flaky Puffs
Little snack pastries with preprocessed fruit fillings... may have come out late 70's, but definately a lunch box staple for part of the 80's

Hostess Puddin pies
These are just like the Hostess fruit pies, but they are filled with vanilla or chocolate pudding. The entire pie was dipped in chocolate. The ad campaign consisted of the slogan "Puddin Power".

I don't remember these at all but they sound wonderful!

Where did you find this? I hate when I can't find something. I'm usually REALLY good with search engines.

Never mind: http://www.inthe80s.com/food/f.shtml
