besides snorkeling?
If so, I'd like to hear from you. I can't seem to find anyone who has done anything else.

We have and plan to do some others on the next cruise.

On our first trip through Nassau we did the Historic Tour - not bad with kids (8 & 10 at that time). Gave them some perspective and visuals but once is enough. And of course a little shopping, straw market, etc.

We're hoping to kayak in Key West (the nature tour) and at least 2 of us plan to do the horseback excursion on Cozumel - so I'd love to hear about those if anyone has input.

Ive see posts re: golfing, horesback riding, historic tours, para sailing, fishing, land tours, ruins tours, sea plane rides. Take a look at the trip repots, maybe it you can get some ideas there.
Are you on the 3,4 or 7 day. If 7, Eastern or Western. Is there something specific you wanted info on?Barb or Dave's site has the compleat excurtion list for all 4 cruises.

We did the marine sanctuary kayaking excursion in St. Thomas and had a great time. No kayaking experience required; the guides were very helpful and taught us a lot about the mangrove habitat. They provided cold water, gatorade, and candy bars after snorkeling (great for getting that saltwater taste out of your mouth!) The water in the lagoon where we snorkeled was a bit murky---not as clear as in an open bay, but interesting because it was the habitat for a lot of young sea creatures. I saw a starfish, lots of small fish, and several barracuda!

Cruise #1 - Historical Tour in Nassau - kinda neat (8 out of 10)

Cruise #2 - Explorer Beach Tour (Something like that) - St Marteen - decent (5 out of 10)
Coral World Excursion - St Thomas (9 of 10)

Cruise #3 - No excursion in St Marteen only shopping
St John's Island Tour (9.5 of 10)

Cruise #4 - Glass Bottom Boat to Coral Reef - Key West (4 of 10)
Island Tour/Turtle Farm - Grand Caymen - (8 of 10)
San Gervasion Ruin and Playa Sol Beach - (9 of 10)

We just did the 12-metre regatta excursion last week on St. Maarten and it was the best thing we did!
Would do it again!!!

Thanks! Keep the replies coming. I know what the excursions guides say, I am looking for personal experiences.
We are doing back to back cruises so it doesn't matter if you give eastern or Western info!

We are thinking of kayaking, somewhere.
We have done the ST. John nature hike.
I am not really interested in any beach breaks, unless they are part of another excursion.

We do not snorkel, I don't care to swim with the fish. I didn't like swimming in ponds as a kid and I don't like it when fish come up to me in the ocean. I am not going to seek them out!

We did the Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Maarten. It was outstanding. I would highly recommend it to everyone. We also did Trunk Bay on St. John. I would also highly recommend it. We did the excursion thru Disney rather than on our own and it was great. We did the dolphin encounter in Freeport and it was horrible.

in st. maarten we did the 12-metre regatta - the best excursion of the eastern caribbean cruise. highlight of our cruise - we highly recommend it!! we're going on this again on our next cruise although i don't know if you can top winning the regatta on the stars & stripes!!

in st. thomas we did the atlantis submarine - it was ok. we mainly did it for our daughter (5 at the time) so she could see fish, etc. underwater since she wasn't a strong enough swimmer to snorkel on her own. she thought it was really cool though.

p.s. if you snorkel at castaway cay do it early before the waters get clouded up from everyone else. my daughter could handle snorkeling at castway cay because it is a protected inlet so no waves, etc.

We do excursions on our own, but you might want to look on the boards on cruisecritic.com on the destinations you are going to. There are many helpful suggestions of excursions arranged by outside operators.

Besides snorkeling in the Caymans, we did the Trolley/Train tour in Key West, and the Jeep Safari tour in Cozumel. If you have any questions about either, I'd be glad to answer them, but I hope to have my trip report up this week...
