Hi Guys,
We are driving this weekend to visit my in-laws in NY. We usually drive straight thru but we are thinking about leaving tomorrow and staying in/ near Columbus... Does anyone know of a decent hotel? Our route takes us along 270 to 71

I would love any help, I hate pulling over and just picking a hotel at random.

Thanks!!!!:wave2:

We just stayed in Columbus over the weekend. We stayed at the Ramada Plaza on Sinclair Rd. It was $69 and included a breakfast buffet. The hotel was ok. Parts of the hotel looked like they just remodel and parts showed a lot of wear and tear. We have also stayed at Comfort Inn - North on Dublin Granville Rd and like that hotel too. We would stay at both again and both are just off 71. Columbus also has a JCPenney Outlet that I like to shop at whenever I'm in town. It is off of 70. This time I got most of my daughters back to school clothes. It is definetly worth a stop if you have the time.

I live north of Columbus about 30 min. Helenabear and Coqui live in Columbus they would probably be your best guess in terms of good hotels.

I personally am a Super 8 Gal and like the one in Delaware on Us 23.

but if you are looking for hotels on the north part of the outerbelt, you might want to try getting off at the Rt 23/High St/Worthington exit. Go north on 23. Turn right on Campus View. Campus View, Huntington, and Vantage have quite a few hotels. There is a Wal-mart and a Meijer on 23 (north of Campus View) and a variety of restaurants.

HTH!:)

I don't live there but I know that the downtown hotels are pretty full. It's the time for the three Longaberger BEES (conventions). We "basket people" will be there through the next week. Best bet would be to stay on the outskirts of the city.

Upper loop Hotwire hotels include (usually) 2 31/2 star suite hotels for approx. $70-75. Worthington is the Sheraton and North columbus is the Embassy suites. Both have the suite symbol. Have used these several times when traveling. PM me if I can give you more info!

I live near Dayton which is an hour west of Columbus. I go to Columbus a lot and am familiar with the west side. Try to look for hotels in Hilliard. There is an exit on I70 just west of the I270 exit. There will you find Meijers and lots of restaurants such as Perkins and Crackel Barrell. I know there is at least a Fairfield Inn there. Plus its on the edge of town and shouldn't be too congested.

You said 71 & 270... north or south end? I am guessing though that driving from NY, it should be the north end. But just had to double check just in case ;)

If north, I do recommend the Worthington area that mom2cinderella suggested. Another good area is off of 270 & 33 (a tad more west of Worthington). There is an area called Metro Park (I believe) and they have a lot of good hotels that aren't too bad. Last area would be 270 and Tuttle (even further out from 71 though) as that also has a lot of nice hotels in a good area (near shopping too if you need that). Have fun here :)

And sorry I didn't get to his yesterday... I was on my way back from Disneyland... my husband (coqui which fire14 mentioned also) rarely posts ;)

Thank you guys so much... I will let you know how it goes, we are hoping to leave around 3 or 4 today.:earseek: AGHHH that is way to soon when I have a car to pack and the 3 girls are "helping"... how many Barbies/stuffed animals/pillows do you have to bring in the car?????? I could do without so much "help" from them:teeth:

Thanks again!!!!!!
