Does anyone like the food offered at the pirate night buffet?

Last month was the 1st time I visited the buffet because my son wanted a turkey leg - they were definitely NOT my favorite.

Our Pirate Night routine does not really allow for the buffet.
We are onshore all day, then DD10 eats early at Flo's and heads to the club/lab.
We go to Meridian/Palo right around sailaway and pick up DD in time for the show and fireworks.
Then off to bed since the next day is another port.

When we were on the Fantasy (twice) and the Magic (once) all times pirate night dinner was served as our regular rotational dining meal, not a buffet. The food was delicious too - ribs, corn bread, rice, shrimp, rum drinks - Caribbean inspired food. Maybe I'm missing something?

There is also a buffet later in the evening. On the Wonder last month it went from 10:15 to 11:00.

Oh. I don't recall if the Fantasy had one but we wouldn't have done it anyway, I'm not a fan of buffets and DH absolutely hates them.

Yes, the Fantasy has one as well. It occurs just after the fireworks in Cabanas. And it is mostly desserts plus turkey legs and some Tex-Mex (I remember tacos, I can't remember what else was in that section).

On our first two cruises we didn't bother... the Magic (2nd cruise) was completely insane when it was time for the buffet, the line was all the way along the deck and didn't seem to move. The next day it was pretty disgusting seeing the amount of turkey legs chucked into the halls! Didn't notice that on the Dream or Fantasy. Curiosity got the better of us the 3rd time (Fantasy) and we tried it out, it was that chaotic in Cabanas that we gave up trying to grab anything before we got near the crepe station. The amount of people that push in when there's clearly some form of line moving between the stations! It's like someone else said, pretty much everyone has had dinner, maybe even more, within just the last few hours so the mad rush doesn't make a lot of sense. I would try it once more just to give the crepes a go, but the main buffet wasn't very impressive at all.
Each station has its own line. Not one line for all the stations. I guess it can be a little hectic when so many people. That it all congealed together.

I has missed the pirate night buffet the first time we cruised, and was determined to check it out when we sailed on the Magic again, last month. My first observation was that it was pretty empty. The turkey drumstick and crepe were both pretty good, but I'll probably pass in the future.

Tried it last month for the first time. I liked the baked potato and wrap. I didn't like the turkey leg at all.. It tasted so bland to me. If that's how they normally are (never had them in the parks), I guess I don't like them in general.

As noted, the dining rooms (for dinner) have a Pirate night menu (except on the 3 night cruises).

There is also a buffet served (in Cabanas/Beach Blanket) following the fireworks. The buffet is fairly short (about 45 minutes) and the line is pretty bad (in my opinion).

Make sure to check your Navigator for the times however. On the Wonder last month the Pirate Party started at 7:30 with Fireworks going off about 8:00 PM. The buffet was held between 10:15 and 11:00. My advice is to not rush to the buffet. We arrived at 10:50 and there was no line at all.

4 cruises and never went anywhere near the pirate buffet. I've never been hungry at the time and always have second seating dining, so not sure I'll ever see the buffet. People have told me the desserts are good.
