Does anyone know why Sheraton Vistana Villages is so much money lately?

My family and I stayed at Vistana Villages 2 or 3 times and fell in love with the property back in 2002. The service was great. The pool was amazing. The property itself was just awesome. We stayed there for about $80 a night for a 2 bedroom villa. We reserved it through hotelkingdom. com. We tried to reserve another another stay to Vistana Villages and the prices were just outrageous. They wanted almost over $200 a night. Even all the other hotel reservation places wanted the same price for a two bedroom at Vistana Villages such as expedia, hotels.com, hotelmartusa.com and others. My mother almost decided just to pay that price. But, I told her not to because the price is just way too high. She will even be willing to do a timeshare for Vistana Villages (if there was one), even though she hates the presentation. So I ask now does anyone know why Vistana Villages is so outrageously priced? And does anyone now where I can get a nice deal for the resort.
Thank YOu!

Try to bid for it on http://www.skyauction.com

You may be able to win an auction for $200 plus $195 service fee for a week stay. No timeshare needed. Watch a few of the Vistana auctions and see what they sell for. Then bid yourself!

Funny you should bring this up since my husband and I had a discussion about it just yesterday. I am thinking that the reason was two fold and it is the same reason that Wyndham Palms Golf is out of line from last year too. When the rates are are really low "anyone" can stay at these resorts. If you were looking to buy a timeshare and saw unsavory people hogging the the pool or being lound and inappropriate would you buy there? If you were an owner how happy would you be to find that your two bedroom suite could be had for 80 a day with no strings attached and every Tom, Dick and Harry can take advantge??
Vistana Villiage is giving low rates. They are contacting people who have stayed there OR those who have taken the tour and given them 5 nights for what amounts to 119.00. I was given one of these invitations AND they have info on me from previous trips just as they have info on others they have contacted from previous tours. WE do not even have to take the tour. I suggest if you have stayed there in the past , contact them and ask why you did not get one of these offers.
I think the ultamate reason is they are trying to preserve the quality of the resort by not opening it up to everyone. It makes sense. No one wants to stay in a resort that is seedy or appears that way. I think it gives them some control. Just my opinion do not shoot me for it.
