Does anyone know which Caesar salads at WDW do not contain anchovies?

I thought I'd start here instead of the restaurant boards. I figured someone here may have checked the ingredient lists at the parks before if you or someone you travel with has some type of fish allergy.

Thanks in advance.

Fresh made salads can be made without most anything. Due to the risk of cross contamination, I would suggest having a salad made. I have had salad at Sunshine Seasons and Pecos Bill and Cosmic Rays. Make sure you tell them of the allergy when you order.

I've had the chicken ceaser salads at POP and Poly and neither one contained anchovies. You can get a list of the ingredients from the restaurants you want to eat at as well as having a list e-mailed to you if you are unsure of the product. :)

This is so promising. Maybe I'll send them an e-mail to find out about Pizzafari, as this is one place we have always had caesar and would like to again if possible.

Thanks - You are all a wealth of information :)

Excuse my ignorance about Caesar salads... I thought anchovies were what made it a "Caesar" salad. I tried a Caesar salad once and the dressing tasted too fishy. Never again...

A lot of your bottled type dressings don't use anchovies. So if a restaurant is using a specific comercial dressing it might not. Now if they make the dressing fresh like they do at a lot of sit down's, then it may or may not have anchovies. Also with the bottled or commercial ones you have to check.

Its amazing all the things they think need a little bit of fish :confused3

I find all of the bottle type dressing has fish in it, if I have my cousin over I end up giving him a vinaigrette. Is there a brand you've had good luck with? I know he liked Caesar salad when he was little.

You would be able to get a freshly made salad without a specific ingredient at any full service restaurant. If you have not made arrangements ahead of time, you would be able to ask your server if you can speak to the chef and expalin your needs.

If you follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, post #3 of that thread has information about special diets and food allergies (including contact information). That way you would be able to get your questions answered ahead of time.

You can also get a freshly made salad at Sunshine seasons, Cosmic rays and Peco's Bills. At Sunshine I spoke with the chef who made it himself as I watched, Cosmic rays and Peco's I spoke with a "manager" who went into the kitchen and brought the salads out when they were done.

Nice to know they are so accomodating.

Merryweather20 - I make all my dressings homemade, I never buy bottles at home. Mostly I just make olive oil, balsamic, with salt and spices. DH has made a homemade caesar for me before though, but it was about a year ago.

Anchovies are an integral part of ceasar salad dressing. So as long as you got a different dressing, you should avoid the problem.
