Does anyone know the travel time involved on the Xcaret Tour in Cozumel? (m)

Trying to decide if it is worth it. My dh and I went there during our honeymoon 9 years ago and would love to see again for old times sake. But now we are traveling with two kids and it might not be worth it. NOt sure if the 3 year old would enjoy the ride there. I am thinking the Chankanaab might be more our speed since the Xcaret tour can take up to 7.5 hours while the other one is only 4 hours.

I can't tell you the exact time, but i believe that you will spend more time traveling to and from to get there, then the actual time you will get to spend there, and that might be too much travel for a little one.

The travel time is less than that for the Tulum Ruins tour and the groups travel to and from the mainland together so I think I can give you an idea based on our experience with Tulum.

We met at the Walt Disney Theater at 9:40 am. We got on the tender boat approximately 10:15 am and left approximately 10:30 am. We arrived in Playa Del Carmen at about 11:00 am and we boarded buses about 11:15 am. We made a fifteen minute stop along the way and arrived at Tulum at 12:30 pm or so. We passed Xcaret on the way (I think it was 15 to 20 minutes less drive than Tulum and probably is done nonstop as opposed to the Tulum tour). We left Tulum at about 3:15 pm and were back at the dock at about 4:00 pm for our tender back to Cozumel. All told, transportation was about 75 minutes each way (90 minutes clock time) and we were at Tulum nearly 3 hours (about 90 minutes of which we were on our own). The Xcaret people got back to the dock about the same time we did. Hope this helps.
