My brother was trying to remember the name of a TV western he watched as a child and loved. All he could remember was the opening credits showed a calvary soldier? having his stripes ripped off and being kicked out of the fort.

Dad couldn't remember the name of the show either. I only remember watching Bonanza, Big Valley, Gunsmoke, and High Chaparral.

Anyone know the answer? Maybe he was mistaken....

Great tv show, yes it was called Branded, 1960's.
Chuck Connors as Jason McCord, a United States Army Cavalry captain who had been drummed out of the service following an unjust accusation of cowardice.

All but one man died,
There at Bitter Creek,
And they say he ran away ...

Branded!
Marked with a coward's shame.
What do you do when you're branded,
Will you fight for your name?

He was innocent,
Not a charge was true,
But the world will never know ...

Branded!
Scorned as the one who ran.
What do you do when you're branded,
And you know you're a man?

And wherever you go
for the rest of your life
You must prove ...
You're a man!

Thank you, that was bugging him to pieces! I owe you all a homemade cheese biscuit and country ham breakfast the next time we're at the Fort!
:)

LOL! I just saw that last post...yes, I am a little slow. We're hoping to be at the Fort the second week in July and I really do plan to put out our sign and have a pot of ribs and tater salad handy for visitors ;)

I think the reason this show was short lived because folks had a hard time thinking of Chuck Conners as coward...:happytv:
