Does anyone know about Splash Mountain?

Are they just closing it for repairs or are they changing something?

My DF and I were really dissapointed when we found out it would be closed for our entire honeymoon

I have seen that before and it was just fresh paint and stuff. I wouldn't think there would be anything to "update" on splash mountain. It isn't like there is a new story or movie out there about Brer Fox and Brer Bear.

I just heard about it today. With all of the "song of the south" debates you never know Glad to hear its just "freshning up"

I'll be there in January and was disappointed to hear it will be closed too, but to be honest, we just rode it last week and it definitely does need some "sprucing" up. The major issue we saw was all the gum everywhere. It was really disgusting. I have no idea why people do it, but everywhere you looked, people had thrown their chewed gum on the walls, etc. It looks like it will take a couple of weeks just to get rid of that

That's almost an entire month compared to its being closed for 4 or 5 days in January 2006. I'd say this is more than a spruce up. This will be 2 trips in a row for us. Oh well, maybe next year.
