Does anyone else get "Sunday Night Syndrome" or is it just me?

I don't know what's wrong with me! Every Sunday night I get bogged down with anxiety because I have to go to work again, the weekend is over, etc. It really ruins the rest of my weekend. Does anyone else get like this, and if so, how do you cope? I even wake up on Sunday mornings with dread and anxiety. I know a lot has to do with being a first year teacher--Sundays are spent finishing up lesson plans, grading papers, and preparing for the week ahead and I just can't put my mind at ease--I feel terrible all day. Just wanted to know if feeling like this is normal.

I believe it is normal. I no longer work outside the home, but when I did, I always got Sunday stress. For one, I've never been a morning person, and the very thought of having to wake before dawn and go to work made me a little sick. I still don't like waking up early, though I do to get my DD and DH off in the mornings, but at least I don't have to go anywhere first thing in the AM. On the flip side though, I LOVED Thursdays. Because it was as close to Friday as you can get, without it being over. :D

Count me in on the Sunday stress. This year is particularly hard, though. I have a VERY difficult class with some VERY difficult students and parents to deal with. I dream of winning the lottery (hard to do when you don't play it ;) ) just so I could quit teaching. Each year seems to get a little rougher with less and less support from parents and administrators. I count the days to our next break. Only 2 1/2 weeks to our next break, three more weeks after that to spring break, and then six weeks after that to the last day. See, I have it all broken down. Yeah, the Sunday stress is AWFUL!!!

DH is the poster child for Sunday neurosis. He likes his boss and the people he works with but he has a one hour 20 minute one way and they've downsized continuously since he's been there so where does the workload go? You guessed it! Plus not a day goes by that he doesn't get in early and leave late.

My DH also suffers from Sunday Stress! He often has trouble sleeping Sunday nights. And he's grouchy sometimes.

Thanks so much for the replies--it is good to know that feeling like this is normal. I am so not a morning person either, and makes me so upset to know that I have to wake up early in the morning! I am comforted knowing that you are all suffering along with me--Thanks! :D :D

I used to feel depressed on Sundays when I was in school. When I worked at a job I loved I didn't have that feeling, though.

I have often said that I would consider teaching again if I could start @ 10:30AM. Why does EVERYONE think that all kids learn the same time of day when we know they all don't learn the same way!!!!

I get it and Im a sahm mom. I get it because my dh works long hours during the week sometimes not getting home til 8 or 830pm
He is a huge help with the 2 little ones 3 yrs and 10 months. So on the weekend I get spoiled with all kinds of help from him and them Monday morning its just me.

I also get Sunday stress.
I love my job but I worry about EVERYTHING on Sunday nights.
For me, it's usually paperwork type stuff...paying bills, ordering things, checking the kids health files, bringing in the fire extinguisher for a check-up, dealing with the big mess up with my health insurance company, writing the weekly newsletter...stuff like that!
Sometimes I go into school on Sunday morning, do what I can and make a list of what I need to do on Monday. That usually helps ease my mind.
I wish I had done that yesterday! ;)

I also love Thursdays... Thursday is Friday Eve!

I get it. It usually sets in for me about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, unless I'm out doing something. Around that time I start getting my clothes ready for the week, start thinking about what's ahead for the week, start to settle down in for the night so that I can try to get to bed early for the start of the week etc.

On the other hand, come Friday morning, as soon as I roll out of bed, my weekend has begun, even though I have another day of work or school ahead. Fridays are just different days at work or school then the rest of the week. :p

I would do anything for sunday stress. I work in a restaurant and I don't have my two days off that I can count on. Sometimes I have tues and thursday or wednesday and friday but I usually have to work the next morning at 7 (with an hour commute) so the nigth before doesn't really count because I need to get to bed early. Getting home at 2 in the AM really gets old before my one day off because I sleep until 11 and don't get anything done. I know I am whining but I honestly hate my job. I would give anything to work monday through friday... :) So if anyone has Ideas what a girl can do with a Hospitality Degree that is mon-fri in this job market let me know!!! :)
