Does anyone else avoid trips during school year because of illness?

Our last 2 trips have been canceled because our son got sick. He got covid 2 days before our trip in Feb 2022. April 2023 he had a nasty stomach bug and we had to leave our hotel near the airport and drive home. (Airport is a 3 hour drive)

Both trips disney was amazing to reschedule and everything worked out fine but I'm so worried to try again during the school year. We are looking at April may or June for 2024 and June 2-8 would give him a solid week out of school before leaving.

Anyone else get nervous?? We have had terrible luck but I know you can't plan around illness...

It really doesn't matter to me, my youngest is in daycare year round and while the chances of being sick are lower in the summer, I've definitely had to cancel plans on the 4th of July because one kid was sick.

I don’t avoid, we just kick up the vitamin C a bit a few weeks before we travel. Unfortunately we find illness can hit at any time so for us there’s not a particular time we avoid travelling.
