I have my vacation booked for the HRH from May 10-15th

I checked orangevacations just to check my room price ($296) and the web said it could not automatically guarantee a room over the internet. So I called and asked the universal people and they said there was some kind of convention thing going on during that time. Of course!!! :rotfl2:

Does anyone know anything about this ~ Should I change my date

We will have fotl, but my husband hasn't been on vacation in at least three years and I want it to be the best it can be

Help! This can get sooooooo confusing

Thanks

Does anybody know the answer to this?

When I called, they said there were a few conventions going on (wouldn't tell me what they were).

I also thought (on a good note) maybe there would be more things planned at the hotels or Citywalk if they know it will be very busy (concerts?)

Coming in on a Tuesday, but late at night do you think I'll be able to choose a decent room? We're booked for a deluxe ~ I was thinking I'd ask about club level (if I can get the deluxe) when we check in.

Any thoughts on whether I should change to another week?

Thanks

There are always conventions of some kind going on at the hotels. It doesn't seem to impact the parks though.

Thanks robvia,

Only 25,000 huh? :guilty:

I'll have to think about this one. I know I'll be ok with the FOTL, but i'm thinking more for the restaurants, the pools, etc.... :confused3

Thanks for the info :wave2:

I went to US/IOA in early Nov 2003 with my sister, staying at HRH, while she attended a convention that probably had around 25000 people as well. There was NO impact on the parks. They were in meetings all day and spent their evenings having dinners out. I definitely would not let a convention affect my choice of when to visit Orlando.

But all these conventions would explain why the HRH has been selling out lately. It's the hip party hotel, so a business can book it at rack rates to impress their clients. Then the guests visit the restaurants on company money. It's kinda a double edge sword. The HRH fills the hotel with high rollers, they raise their rates, and turn away the little guy to other hotels.

I'd keep the ressie if I were you. The way rates are going up, it may be the last year you can afford it.

I definately would not reschedule my vacation because of a cardiology convention. There are always conventions in Orlando - this group isn't likely to impact your vacation plans. You could do worse!

if you go to orangevacations and punch in that week it says They cannot guaratee your reservation over the internet. This is for all three hotels.
When I called she said she had plenty of rooms, but i think they were probably standard rooms. Luckily I already have my reservations.

Thank you everyone
