Help all, looking for recommendations on a rental.
Spouse has several health conditions and unfortunately its best to rent a scooter. We had one on our last trip that was fine no complaints -but we never spent all day in the parks . We ran out of juice duirng our epcot day after 4-5 hours. Our next trip is a big family trip and my guess will be an all day event with the family. Any suggestions on and transportation unit/company. Looking at Gold, Walker and Apple.
Your help appreciated.

Thank you

The ones from Gold will last all day as long as you get the right one for your weight, which they can help guide you through and make sure you fully charge every night. They use extended batteries on all of their ECVs and honestly their condition and customer service are the best.

When using a scooter, if you turn it off every time you are eating or watching a show, or for that matter just sitting still waiting in line, it should definitely last all day.

Regardless of where you are staying, you must charge the battery every night. Make sure it actually gets plugged in and is charging. (Every one in our party was tired. Well one thought the other one did, and another did - well morning it was still "green" but on the lower end. We used it the entire day and made it!!! Not suggesting this - but!!!)

If you plan on staying on site, I rent a captain chair, 3 wheel from Gold Mobility. This model cannot be folded or disassembled in a trunk. However, Gold has scooters that can be broken down.

Just make sure that the scooter you rent is suitable for the person's weight. Buying a scooter not meant for the correct size, will definitely drain a battery.

You want to get a two battery scooter; they last longer. An example of one that's readily available for rent is the Victory 10. These are heavy duty scooters; so, they last longer. Turn the scooter off as much as possible. You can find an outlet in the park and give the scooter a battery boost while you are eating.

Make sure you give the scooter a full charge each night.

I rented the smaller one from Gold, the Go-Go Sport, which I was told may not last all day. However, it not only lasted a full day, I forgot to charge it, yet it lasted at least half of the next day. Perhaps it would have lasted longer (never gave any "signs" I was losing power), but I was so nervous, I went back to my resort after lunch! Note to self-NEVER forget to recharge scooter overnight.

My last few rentals have been with Gold Mobility and the scooter lasted all day without even going down a dot on the battery indicator lights. I rented their regular scooter. I used to rent from Buena Vista but often had to charge the battery once or twice during the day. I also usually forget to turn mine off when I am just sitting so...their batteries have been fantastic for me so far.

All do but only one can drop off at bell service ( forgot what one it is)

I’ve only used Gold Medal Scooters, and there’s zero chance I’d even try another company. They were so over the top with customer service that there’s not even a word for it.

I charged every night in our room, but that was even unnecessary. The one time I went two full days on a single change, the battery indicator never went below halfway.

Gold Mobility is what I've used the last 3 times and the scooter not only lasted all day from rope drop to late hours, but one night I forgot to charge it and it still had some juice the next day. I was able to charge it while at lunch. LOL! And like the others said, they are second to none in customer service. Get the 3 wheeler - makes better turns than 4 wheels.

I rented a Triple Lindy from Walker Mobility back in May. I was worried about the battery life. My battery barely came off green on any of the three days I used it. I had a very good experience from Walkers. Would definitely rent from there again.

one thing I learned the hard way is make sure when you plug in to charge over night that the outlet you use is not one that turns off when light turned off

I've mentioned this before, but having seen the issues first hand that some were having, make sure you ask whatever company you rent from what their policy is if your equipment breaks down while you are in the park. Some like Gold will come to you wherever you are, others like Scooterbug require you to get your equipment to the front of the park or a resort on your own and Disney will not help, even with a Scooter Bug rental, DH saw someone struggling with that. I do not know what every company's policy is, but find out before renting and get it in writing. We have seen companies out here on the west coast that verbally say they will come to you, but when someone has a problem at the back of the park, they say they won't.

Additionally, if they say they will come to you, check if there are any limitations on the hours they will come to you. After all you don't want to get stuck at 10 PM and have to figure out what to do.

I personally will always maintain Gold is the best because I already know they will come whenever and wherever if we are stuck and that being stuck will be extremely rare because of how well maintained and updated their equipment is, but if you go with someone else, please, please ask these questions, they are important. You don't want to push a heavy scooter from the back of Animal Kingdom up to the front of the park, the exit alone would be a killer to keep it from getting out of control going down hill.
