Does any one regret not doing the MK shoot

I am asking this question because I want to know. I want to know will I kick myself forever if I do not do the mk photo shoot??

I am fighting that battle with myself right now. I do have the MK photo shoot scheduled, but am wondering if I really want to spend the $850. For me the added problem is that there will be scaffolding in front of the castle due to the lighting for Grad Nights. They have said they will use some computer magic to make the photos appear normal, but I am still wondering if it is worth the money. I may feel totally different if this was our wedding and not a vow renewal. Or, if Disney would allow our children to be present for the MK photo shoot.

On one hand I am thinking that this is my only shot to have pictures taken in a wedding dress with my DH in dress blues in the Magic Kingdom. My more sane side says that we've already done the wedding thing, we're getting lots of pictures at our vow renewal by Randy Chapman, do we really need to spend another $850 to do the MK photo shoot.

I'll be interested to see what answers you get because I need to make a firm decision on this soon.

I got married in July and I did do the MK shoot and looking back it is definitely one of three things that I would have seriously regretted if I had not had them done. The pictures are truly unique and not something that everyone has. I love the pictures but what made it the most magical was being alone in the park. It was so quiet and so magical for us I can't even put into words what that part meant. It was in our budget from day one which also helped in our decision.

The other two things I'm so glad I did that I would have regretted not doing are:
Fireworks cruise on the Grand 1 for guests (I think they all loved it, I'm sure if I'm wrong I'll hear about it)
Having my flowers preserved.

Oh yes I regret not doing them. We had the little intimate wedding at the Yacht Club and it was really gorgeous and we didn't buy any extra pictures so all we really have are 12 little pictures and I sure would have loved to have pictures of us dressed up in front of the castle. One of the members here has her MK photo shot in her profile of her and her hubby kissing in front of the castle and it's soooooo cute.

The only reason I didn't do the shot was because of the price, but looking back we spent so much already wants another $850 in the long run, really.

I think I would go for it. I am regretting it right now even though I didn't even get married yet. We simply do not have time to put it in our schedule. We leave the morning after the wedding to go on our honeymoon and I do not want to see him before the ceremony. So if we had one more day I would def. be doing it.

I don't regret skipping that. I thought very hard about it. I hate the morning, and I just didn't find it to be worth the $850 *plus* the $1000 to buy the full res files on cd!

The reason I am asking is by the time I have my IVR I am looking at 1000 knowing Disney.

I only get what 12 photos and no proofs? So thinking of it that way is it worth the 8.50 for a 5x7.

Also how long does it take to get your wedding photos from Disney. ALso can you buy the proofs from them also if so what cost.

Also can you tell then where you want your after wedding photos taken at?

I don't regret not doing it but I do think all of the pictures of the couples who did are great! DH and I are not morning people and the idea of getting all done-up again so early in the morning was not appealing to us at all. We didn't even want to get up for the 10:30 brunch the next day  We decided against it and I don't feel that I missed anything.

Under the "old" Intimate rules at least, it was $250 for the proofs, 4 x 6 prints. The high res CD was about $1200. I got my on-line photos by the time we got home from our honeymoon. The low res CD (and believe me it is LOW res I don't think you could even make prints from that thing) and the 12 picture folio came about a month after the wedding. The folio is gorgeous! Personally, if you have to choose for financial reasons, I would spend the money on buying the high res CD of your wedding photos.

We did it, and didn't think it was the worth the money. Yes, it was a unique experience, but with everything else that we experienced during our wedding trip, the MK photo's don't rank that high on the list. I do think our experience is tainted by the photographer, DH and I didn't like him much, and didn't think he had a bone of creativity in his body. Other brides have been happy with him though. If I could go back I would have saved the $1000 dollars we spent on the photo session, the floral refresh, and hair and make up and used the money to get my bouquet preserved instead.

See that is what I am afread of ?? Someone who does not have a creative bone in their body and if I make a suggestion that they would not go for it??

When we got married DLR had just started offering this option. They offered it to us two weeks before our wedding and were unable to fit it in. Looking back we really do regret not doing it. It's a once in a lifetime experience. The price tag isn't small and the money can be used for other things but if we could have done it we would have.

See if you can book Joe and/or Andrea. They did our photos and I have such high praise for them. This coming from someone who was trying to back out of the Disney Photography package and wasn't able to becuase we were hours inside the window. Joe was awesome- just awesome! We're trying to catch up with him in May to play a round of golf. Andrea is a doll and has tremendous talent in the photojournalistic side of the house. I bet she does with portraits as well.

I REALLY regret not doing it!!! I love everyone's pictures from the MK photoshoot and I think they would be great to have. If you can afford it...I would do it!!!

I don't regret it...there were lots of reasons we chose not to do any extra photos, and I don't regret any of my choices. I pre-paid for my proofs (that's the best way to go at about $225, after the wedding they are $5 each) and I will buy the hi-res CD in three years (for $100).

For us, it was truly magical to just be married at WDW...the memories will last a lifetime with or without pictures.

And, if I remember correctly (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) I believe you have up to one year AFTER your wedding to schedule the MK wedding photos...so, it could be done later (maybe as a first anniversary thing).

i currently have the mk bridal session scheduled but im starting to debate the extra cost & if its worth it for $850.

Absolutely ditto twojo! I just can't make up my mind!!!!! I know that my DH will say "more pictures?????"

I did not do it...and while I think it would have been super cool, I don't regret it at all. My father wanted me to do it SO badly...but quite frankly, I am not a morning person AND I'm not a girly girl so I would have looked like death warmed over OR gotten up earlier AND paid $220 to have disney cosmo wake me up to get me dressed AND my whole day would have been shot because I would have been exhausted. I DO wish that we had done an engagement package or whatever and gotten some shots in the park that way...but we can do that any trip:) So no--I don't regret it...

I didn't do it. When I first saw the pics posted of people who did, I was tooootally going to do it. But the more pics I looked at the less I wanted it. A few people posted some that were down right not worth $100 let alone $1000. And then they can't guarentee you'll have a colored castle in the background, and if it rains it gets cancelled, and it's a 4am wake up for make-up. In the end I decided I'd rather use the money to upgrade my stay to concerige for the last 4 nights of our trip. In the end I've decided I deffinatly made the right decission.

Good luck.

Melissa

If we had had our wedding at WDW, we most defintely would have done it. We didn't do it at DL b/c it was such an extra expense (you had to hire your photographers separately)...they don't even offer it anymore. I was a little disappointed that we decided not to do it, but not so much anymore...

I would be interested to know if you can book your MK photo shoot after the wedding? Is it true you can have it done within 1 year of your wedding? :confused3
