Does Air Tran give credit or refund if price drops?

Not that I'm aware of. Airtran will allow you to cancel and rebook at the lower fare; however, you will have to pay a large change fee, $75 or $100 per ticket.

I was told something to the effect of "we don't expect you to pay if the price increases so we don't refund if it decreases."

I never called AirTran, but I did call WDTC, whom I booked the flights through. The CM put me on hold to ask "air help" (the people who do the air reservations, but whom customers never talk to), and the message returned to me was that AirTran not only won't refund or credit the difference, but they also won't allow you to pay the $50 change fee to rebook on the same flights. They WILL allow you to change to a DIFFERENT flight, however, but if you're like me, you chose specific flights for a reason, so that option didn't appeal to me. I never checked directly with AirTran, and we've all known Disney CMs to provide less than accurate info in the past, but I'm not optimistic.

This morning I was able to get a credit good for one year. I called the regular 800 number and explained that the flights were on sale and the price had dropped.

I asked if I could get a credit and they did so willingly. I was charged $5 per credit I asked for. Bit I still saved money. :thumbsup2

I received a credit of $108 this morning. We are traveling in January and I noticed this morning that our flights were cheaper. I called 1-800-AIRTRAN and asked about it. She issued me a credit for future travel in the amount $108. I didn't even have to pay the $5.00 fee.

We are now flying non-stop from Detroit for $137 each. :cool1: :thumbsup2

I also called AirTran this evening and asked for a credit for the change in rates. I did not change any flights and I was not charged any fees to change. You are allow to do this just once per reservation.

I gave them my A+ rewards number so they could apply the credit on my account...I just don't know how to get that credit to show online yet so I can book on a future flight.

It helps if you are an A+ member and costs nothing to join.

With a $60 credit I am now hoping to fly again...and soon! :)

How about NorthWest?
I just noticed that my flights dropped in price. It's only $40 total...but that can buy a nice souvineer!

Just got the answer from NWA. Yes....but there is a $25 adim fee which leaves me with a $15 voucher. Humm...not sure it's worth the hassle.

I received a $90.00 credit yesterday (from Airtran) for three tickets and they did not charge me anything. Yippeee!! I asked if there was a fee to get the credit and was told no. She put the credit on my A+ account to use in the next year.
