Does a waitlist coming through cancel FastPasses?

I just created a waitlist for BLT for my hubby and I. Don't expect it to come through in the next 56 days, but figured it was worth a shot (only 10 more points than we're currently booked at SSR). This is our first DVC stay, so trying to figure out some logistics. Will my current FastPasses get canceled if my wait list comes through (essentially canceling my current RO reservation)? I'm not willing to risk my current FPs for the possibility of different accommodations. Anyone have any current/2015 experiences they can share?

We didn't have a waitlist come through, but have changed our resort 3 times since our FP's were made and haven't had any problems with them

If you cancel a resort after making your FP+ reservations, but before the 30 day window opens up, the FP+ will remain, but you won't be able to make any changes until you either book a new resort or hit the 30 day window.

Thanks for the explanation Supersnoop. I had wondered the same thing and thought when I changed resorts it would cancel them. It didn't and I didn't know why-- now I do!!

No, but it will mess up your Magic Bands. We had a waitlist come through and almost missed out on customized magic bands as the new new reservation # reset our magic bands.

I just dropped two days at Princess half marathon - changed my mind about using them.

They must have gone straight to waitlist, never did show available.
