Does a Song Remind You of WDW?

We've done smells and particular sounds, but how about a specific song? I'm not sure how far this thread will go, but it's worth a shot. I'm "studying" for finals and am about to go off the deep end!

The songs can't be "Disney" songs though, like "When You Wish Upon A Star" doesn't count (although that song makes me tear up when I hear it!).

I have two:

The first is "Hotel California." It reminds me of ToT, so much, and I have no clue why. Probably because hotel is in the titles. The beginning of the song reminds me of walking down the street and looking up at the Tower. It also reminds me of WDW because it was the last song we heard in our limo on the trip down to Philly.

The second is the "Gone With The Wind" theme. It reminds me of MGM because of the Great Movie Ride and also, the last time we walked out of the park it was playing over the loudspeakers. I love that movie, and I knew right away what it was from after my sister asked me "What's that pretty song?"

Any takers on this???

Everytime I hear Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" song I think of Disney. I think it might actually be in a disney movie, but I didn't know that when I first heard it. It just describes how I feel sometimes. I would love to move to Florida for a little while and work at Disney, and at this point, it is in DH and my future plans. That song always makes me wish I could go just take off for Florida. Especially the part about sleeping under a palm tree and hearing the rush of the ocean. I mean, if that doesn't say Florida, I don't know what does!!!

when ever i smell sulfur or something burning it reminds me Pirates of the caribbean.

for some reason the smell of the old figment ride w/ dreamfinder , just comes back to me. I can't decribe the smell though.

A loose association is any song by James Taylor or Jimmy Buffett. I listen to both a lot during the summer months and when I'm in Florida...and of course, any thoughts of Florida leads to thoughts of WDW!!!

breakaway by kelly clarkson definitely reminds me of disney world, both cause of the lyrics and because i think it was most popular when i went there last.

eternal flame by the bangles reminds me of the MK for some reason. dont know why.

By the way, James Taylor does a GREAT version of "The Second Star to the Right" on "Stay Awake", a terrific album of Disney songs interpreted by different artists. Look for it on Amazon.com, you can hear sound clips of all the songs -- Ringo Starr does "When You Wish Upon a Star", Aaron Neville does "The Mickey Mouse Club March", and many others.

There are a number of songs (mostly classical style Final Fantasy soundtrack songs) I'll listen to when in the hotels at Disneyworld so whenever one of them comes on at home, i'll always think of Disneyworld :)

Sunny, I completely know what you mean. :hourglass

But I think for me it's "The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Wimoweh)". True, it was used in The Lion King, but it's not a Disney created song. Imagine my suprise when I was working a play for the first performance and come curtain call, this song was playing. :earseek: So cool! :cool1: It's the little things in life, for sure. :cloud9:

Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice from Mickey's big segment from Fantasia. It reminds me of Mickey, which reminds me of WDW :goodvibes

:cool1:

Whenever I get on the Metro I think of Disney... reminds me of the Monorail!

Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors". It used to be played during the pre-show for Honey I Shrunk The Audience. I listen to a classic rock station alot in the car and everytime I hear "True Colors" it brings me back to WDW. :goodvibes

Usually any song by Norah Jones... but only if I'm out somewhere like a restaurant or mall or something. My mom bought the single for me at the Virgin Megastore so ever since then it brings back a pleasant feeling... :earsboy:

Oh Mickey You're so fine...You're so fine you blow my mind...hey Mickey!!:cheer2: :music: Hey Mickey!!

Does anyone remember this song? 80's music :rotfl2:

I remember it and it reminds me of WDW too! :teeth:

Myst

Oh, Mickey reminds me, too. And True Colors...I really loved that opening. DH is reminded everytime he hears classical music ( he wasn't much of a classical fan until his first few WDW trips.) Since last years F&W at EPCOT the Beach Boys remind me of WDW...we saw them for 3 performances last year. And Jimmy Buffet always takes me right to FL, but usually I think more of the Keys & where my family lives when I hear him.

yay
hey mickey is great
my sisters have the video of it
:p
oh i also think any song when we are there which gets played we like
(this year it was hollaback girl from Gwen stefani, don't phunk with my heart from black eyed peas and shes no you from Jesse Mccartney)
and i have this ringtone on me mobile which is titled bells. I wanna rename it tinkerbell as it just sounds like her. And i record alot of disney songs on my mobile-one of them is soarin'
:)

Shania Twain reminds me of Fort Wilderness. The last time we stayed at FW was in 1998 & they were playing her album everytime we were sitting on the Porch outside Crockett's.....

I don't even LIKE country music or Shania Twain - but that Feel like A Woman song brings me right back to Crockett's every time.....

it's early and i am having a brain block :confused3 but at MGM right before the beauty and the beast show, those guys, 4 for a dollar, sing a song (that I can't think of the name right now but I know the song when I hear it). I have the soft rock station on in the basement and it comes on everytime I'm down there doing laundry. It put me right back at WDW.
