I understand you have to pay adult prices when your kid turns 10, but is there also an extra fee for he room? Or when I'm trying to figure out room only costs, can I go off the rack rates on WDW website?

Your children become adults for room purposes at age 18. That is when an extra adult charge is added in to the cost of the room.
