Lily and Charlie love Christmas! They love the tree, the decorations, the ribbon and bows, the tissue paper. They even love to help wrap the presents! That is, after they play in the bags that the presents came home in. I just assembled some cookies into tins with parchment paper between layers, and they even had fun playing with the scraps of paper, (which are now all over the kitchen floor). What about your pets? Do they love the holidays too? ;)

Oh no! My Sheltie is 10 years old, and she's still terrified of the tree. She barks at it and keeps a watchful eye on it when she has to walk past it. We moved it this year, and she's having to do that more often. Then you have the gifts, which she also hates. Then, the wadded up wrapping paper......

My German Shepherd just had a grand old time trying to unwrap DD's presents. We just put them under the tree and DD was doing the whole "shake and guess what it is" thing when my GS decided to help her out by unwrapping them. LOL - she's never done that before!!

Of course, DD didn't mind ;) But I stopped it all before it was too late. Hope I can trust the GS around the tree when no one is around!

Nope, my 14 y.o. beagle takes one look at the tree coming in the door and leaves the room, LOL.

On Christmas, when we open the gifts, he always receives his first. He'll pose for pictures, eat his treat, and leave.

Your cats sound cool.

herc.

Every Christmas morning our dog sprints out of our room straight to his stocking.

DD's dog loves Christmas so much that last night he sniffed out his wrapped raw hide bone (that was hidden), unwrapped it, and chewed up the whole thing by the time I got up this morning!!

Oh yeah. All 4 of ours have a ball unwrapping their presents. Although if they see they are unwrapping a toy instead of a treat, they'll will leave it half opened to move on to the next, and hopefully edible, present.

I think they love Easter more, though. We take the plastic hide an eggs and put treats in them and hide them throughout the living room. They get all anxious waiting to be let in. They run in and search everywhere looking for the eggs. They stomp on them with their paw to open them up and then scarf up the treats. I know. We are crazy for having Easter egg hunts for our dogs but honestly, it's more for our amusement, watching them run around. It's pretty funny.

We have two cats and they don't like any kind of change. All the decorations are change and I think they have come to tolerate it. They do like playing with the tree, though.

DH takes our yellow lab out in the truck to look at house lights through the neighborhoods!!

DH says Doc likes them.

And I thought we were the only ones that hid treat-filled Easter eggs for our dog!:) She loves finding them!

Apple thoroughly enjoys chewing on the tree and hidining underneath the tree skirt. She also does enjoy whatever her new toy is that she gets as a gift. My parents are even getting her a gift this year!

Ted always looked surprised at the tree in the living room. Thank goodness he never got the idea that it was there for his "convenience". ;)

He liked getting boxes of doggie treats and was actually pretty good at opening his presents .

:lmao: This thread is timely. On tv this morning, I saw a commercial for Chia cat grass and the ad said, "The perfect gift for your cat!"

I said to DH, "People buy gifts for their cats?"

He replied, "Well, duh, cats don't know it's Christmas. They aren't DOGS." :rotfl:

FTR, DH loves cats and would have one except Dd and I are allergic.

Our kitties love playing under the tree, attacking wrapping paper and ribbon.

I guess you could say they love it! :santa: :cat: :cat:

my mom's chocolate lab loves helping open presents. We make the first rip for her and she takes it from there! popcorn::

i'm actually not sure how my ChowChow is going to like xmas yet - we didn't really do any celebrating at my house last year, but OH MAN is she loving this snow!

Sally loves Christmas...she likes to eat the lights.

My brother's dog loved Christmas, he was a pro at opening gifts. This will be the first Christmas without him :( he passed away over the summer. I still miss him, he was an awesome dog!
