Do your pets "give" gifts?

Oh yes, our pets are a part of the family...they do give gifts, too!

Of course! The cat usually gives fleece hoodies or something else warm and soft. The ferret likes to give toys.

Absolutely. They give gifts and get gifts! They are family members as far as we are concerned.

My mom is 84. For the last 35 years or so, she has been getting gifts from her little Chihuahua...may he RIP (he's been gone since sometime in the 1980's). I will ask about something new that she has, and she will smile this sweet little smile and say, "oh, I got that from Tiny." I love my mom!

I've been after the dogs to get paying jobs for a while now, but they're rather nap all day. So, they don't give gifts. But they do GET gifts. Now that's the life!

Our dog only gives one gift and thats to my MIL's dog. They are BFFs! LOL!

My cat does not give, but she receives. And her stocking is hung with the rest of the familys.

Same here and the stocking is already stuffed with treats and we picked up her new kitty condo yesterday. She is loving Christmas already.

My Kitties have stockings stuffed, but santa is debating if they have been good enough for all the treats. They have made it their job to derail the monorail from around the bottom of the tree!

Yes. Before we had kids DH and I would have fun with the gift labels. Half of the fun of opening the gift was to see who gave it to you. We have continued that tradition. So far the kids can't read. We have to think of a way to continue this once they can read.

I never thought about her giving a gift. DS(3) would get a huge kick out of that - I'll have to grab something little for him from her. She does get gifts - she has a stocking hung up next to ours.

Usually our pets only receive gifts.

Though one of my dogs chewed up on of my son's gifts it was a dvd and only the case was damaged so I am thinking of putting his name on it to my son.

Our cats (2) give and get gifts.

They give gifts to our pet sitters (2) cats, cause our pet sitter rocks and any reason for her to want to watch our fur balls is a good reason.

They give gifts to my husband and I, usually things that we get for free or nearly free with coupons (since they are on a limited hair ball budget).

Also each year they receive a large combined gift (examples include a new water fountain, cat tree, etc) and get a stocking full of treats from "Santa-cat".

Sometimes they receive treats and such from other family members, but the cats are re-gift-ers. Those are given those to the shelter (since they have some dietary restrictions).

I nearly forgot their favorite parts of Christmas, wrapping paper balls to play with, one mylar balloon with the ribbon replaced with a cloth ribbon (which is only out when supervised--they love balloons), and their favorite activity is helping to personalize and wrap all the gifts, by chewing on the ribbon or bows. (We have to put all the wrapped with ribbon gifts in a closet after they get a minute or two to add their touches). The cats are definitely an active part of our household holiday.

This is so funny! I don't have any pets now. But I have fond memories of my mom doing this when i was little. I remember when I opened the gift she would looked shocked , and turn to our dog and say " Lucky,,, did you take mommies wallet and go shopping!"
