Do your kids carry their KTTW cards?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to carry everything and organize things. My sons (7 and 5) want to have lanyards (they have a pin collection to wear) and want to put their KTTW cards in the clear card case on the lanyard. Is it safe there? Should I carry them in my backpack? I was also going to wear my KTTW card around my neck with a lanyard or credit card holder, but DH doesn't think it will stay on during rides. :confused3 How do other people carry their cards? I think we'll just put credit on the KTTW card (DH's and mine), and carry that and a credit card into the parks...no wallets or cash. Will that work? :goodvibes

We kept our sons cards because we were afraid they would lose them. We did not put the charging privileges on any of our cards after we changed rooms because we were on the Premium Plan and instead of taking things off the plan they kept trying to charge everything including our meals to the card. So be careful of that.

I just carried the cards in my back pocket. We asked at resort check in for the little cardstock wallet thing for each card. We didn't have any problems with the cards de-magnetizing.

My dd kept hers in her little bag she carried and I think DH kept his in his wallet which was considerably thinner than normal because we left anything we didn't think we would need for the trip at home.

My girls(8 and 10) carrry their own KTTW cards. BUT we are annual pass holders so their passes are not on the KTTW card. I have found that it is much easier for me to carry all passes. It makes the fastpass machine go much smoother.

I carry in my lanyard- my KTTW card, aps, credit card, photopass card, drivers license and DDE card. I could go without cc but I am always worried about not having a backup.

I have never had a problem on any ride with my lanyard.Make sure you have room in your bag for kids lanyards. They can get heavy on their necks by the end of the day.

Don't forget to have a form of ID on you in case you have a problem with your KTTW or for verification if you use your cc.

We've been doing the clear lanyard thing for years, in fact, our rule is that no one leaves the room without it. It serves as the kids' ID, because I write my cell number on the back with a sharpie. Naturally, they have no charge priveleges on them, and I make sure to carry a photocopy of the backs of the cards at all times; WDW will replace the KTTW if you have a copy of the back.

On major rides like TOT and RNRC, and at the playgrounds, just drop the lanyard inside your shirt; you would do that anyway with a pin lanyard or it would whack you in the face.

Beware of carrying important things in your kids' lanyards! My DD7's pouch ripped off her lanyard on our last trip. Ok, so she was crawling on the ground (no she's not weird, it was part of the Family Magic Tour and everyone had to crawl) and kneeled on the pouch and the top loop that connects to the lanyard clip tore clean through. So they are not real sturdy. I let her carry the map, which made her feel very important, in the pouch, and I keep the cards distributed throughout my pockets. I also carry ONLY what I will need: KTTW card, ID, and health insurance card. That last one because earlier this year I broke my arm while at Universal Studios and things would have been much easier had I thought to bring my ins. card with me.

That's why I mentioned the playgrounds: any time the lanyard is likely to hang away from or fly away from the chest it should be tucked inside your shirt before you do that ride, climb, crawl, whatever. I sometimes have to remind the kids to do it.

BTW, be very careful of putting passes in hip pockets; they can work loose as you move, and if you get really sweaty they can also get too damp to work in FP machines. I've found passes on ride seats several times, and I've lost count of how many times I've tapped someone on the shoulder to tell them that their pass was about to fall out of a back pocket.

No-I carry both our cards, usually in my back pocket. I don't want my DD6 to lose hers. This is most convenient for me when entering parks and getting fast passes. My DM carries her own.

I am thinking about getting myself a lanyard but don't know if I want to have it around my neck. I have never lost any cards, or fast pass tickets, out of my pocket (knock wood :rotfl2: )

We usually have an AP. I'm the keeper of the passes in our family. Neither my son (12), nor my husband (52) keep their own passes. I dole them out when we get in line and gather them back up after we get through the turnstile.

My husband carries his own KTTW, as does my son. But they keep them in their wallets like a credit card and not around their necks in a lanyard. Sometimes those lanyards come loose and fall off without noticing.
