Cayla and I are thinking of getting a Wii. But it's a lot of money to sink into a video game system. Is it really worth it? I haven't updated my gaming system since Sega Genesis. I have to admit, Wii looks pretty cool with the interaction, and Cayla wants to get the balance board and Fit stuff. So have you Wii'd? What can you tell us.

Yes - I think I have to right now.

And sometimes if I drink too much to late -
I have to get up in the night to :rotfl:

I was wondering who would fo there first.....Yes Wally was on the list.

Bad Wally.....not for Wii....I hate snakes...Boo Hiss.

I'm going to ignore Wally and stay on topic ...

Yes, I have a Wii and Wii Fit and I love it. I have a treadmill and other exercise equipment in my basement but lately I have little spare time and dread the thought of going into the cold basement in the morning. I can force myself to use the Wii Fit in the morning since it's in my living room. As far as getting a workout - it's all up to you. You can take it easy or push yourself to get the maximum benefit. Some of the exercises will keep you honest (by tracking your motion or your weight on the board) but some of them you can 'cheat'. Another program you might want to look at is My Fitness Coach for the Wii - I bounce around that and Wii Fit.

Sorry, no Wii at our house. We still have an old Sega Genesis, I still :lovestruc "Toejam & Earl" and "Wizardry". We also have a PS2, which is a blast. Honestly, most games now are so freakin' technical that I just can't get into them. However, I do love a good RPG. Shining Force is one of my favorites for PS2. If I play anything lately, it's been my Nintendo DS. I am diggin' Mario all over again.

What's with the funky sigs? I have to say I prefer satanic Wally but I think you need to do a leprechaun one in honor of St. Patrick's Day ... and no, the green snakes don't count!

We have the Wii and Wii Fit and enjoy both. Thankfully mom got it for the kids for Xmas!!!!

We liketo do it as a family, which is nice as we didn't have 'family' time before!

I have a Wii and we play it a lot! It's very fun and has lots of good multi-player games. I just got an XBox360 and where it is fun, it's not as good for multi-player games, I think. I mean, we're not much into the fighting games like Halo and the like.
Anyway, Wii Music is an awesome multi-player game, Wii Sports is a lot of fun and it comes with the system, and Wii Play is also a really popular multi game. So you can both play!
Also, Wii Fit is cool. I got it for Lily and she loves it and uses it every day! I play with it sometimes, too.
Wii is the best system :thumbsup2

I've thought about it on occasion, but $250 is a lot of $$ to sink into a system that I could only use for games. Add the extra $90 for the Wii Fit, and that's a healthy piece of change.

I have a PS3, that I bought as a dual use gaming system and blu-ray player. Since I got it, they've also started a service where I can download movies, eliminating my need for Netflix subscription. I just order a movie when I want one and it downloads while I'm making popcorn. I got a great deal on it because I traded my PS2 in for $100 off.

We're loyal to PlayStation consoles, due to the amount of Disney ::MickeyMo titles they've made (which includes the PS2 Kingdom Hearts series, a cross between Final Fantasy and Disney).

At the moment, we have a PS3 and a PSP (PS3 makes a GREAT Blu-Ray player and a lovely media center we can play our MP3s from).

We've got the Wii and the Wii Fit, along with the Jillian Michaels workout for the Wii Fit. I have to admit that my idea of working out with the Wii is a spirited game of Wii Bowling or a kickin' solo on Guitar Hero. I bought the Wii Fit (and Jillian's disc) for DP (who is much more health conscious than I am). We only got the Wii Fit a few weeks ago, since everywhere I tried was sold out over the holidays, but so far DP likes it.

We have a Wii, PS3 and Xbox (haven't upgraded to the 360). Of the three we play the Wii the most (PS3 is a close second because Rockband 2 and Guitar Hero are on it).

The Wii is a great system if you have parties and friends that come over often because it is so interactive and everyone can get into it. I bought a Wii for my parents this year for Christmas too because they loved the interactivity.

As for price $250 is a bargain in terms of how much we use it. I look at things from a logic/financial perspective. If I get X hours of enjoyment out of something its worth its price. To do this I take the price, divide it by my hourly salary and come to how many hours I really have to enjoy using it before its worth its price. Needless to say, the Wii was an easy sell.

We LOVE out Wii!

Santa brought it yr before last. I added the wii fit when it came out. I like the Wii fit... although I still prefer my treadmill its a nice change.

I like the Wii because I can download all the old nintendo games I loved. We have Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country, etc. Its great for Family time. We bowl a *lot* and we really love Cow Racing.

I LOVE more than anything that cow racing and bowling, fishing, etc are all things that Julia can play. She can't do the buttons of traditional controls, but the movements she can do. I like that it works for her most of all :)

Love our Wii! :)

We've had a Wii for almost two years now and love it! If you are looking for a system that is interactive and involves all ages - get a Wii! Even my 70+ yr old grandmother loves the bowling game. It also provided hours of entertainment for my mom and niece (my mom hadn't played a video game since Tetris!) I was even able to get her to rock out on Guitar Hero for a few songs. We also got Wii Fit last summer and Jillian Michaels a few months ago. The more you use Wii Fit, the more you will get out of it. I used it quite frequently in the beginning and it really helped. I've been slacking recently so need to get back into it before summer hits!

Ds13 plays the Wii on occasion, but not nearly as often as he used to. What he really LIKES to use it for it to browse YouTube.

He wanted the Fit, so he got it for Christmas. Over the holidays we used it a lot, but then January wore on and we stopped. I haven't touched it in almost 2 months.

The Fit doesn't have an intense workout on it as an included thing. It has different activities you can "unlock" the more you play, but for example, the "advanced" step aerobics is only 5 minutes, and there is all this crap you have to scroll through to reset it to do another 5 minutes. I find that incredibly frustrating. There is also "free step" where you set it in 10 minute increments, but there is a maximum speed that is still pretty slow. You CAN change channels and watch normal TV while the remote will click to keep you on tempo, but it is kind of boring.

I have some small hand weights to hold while I step but it's not an intense workout, and I am a pretty sedentary girl.

I keep saying I will get back to it, but it hasn't happened yet. :rolleyes1

Thought you were "ignoring" me -
I like the ignoring better :upsidedow

we have wii and wii fit. I use it more than Chris however I have not been on the fit in almot a month LOL. I need to get back on soon!!! I think it's worth the investment if you use it.

We have a wii and LOVE it! I have the wii fit, but have to tell you I don't like that I paid $90 for a game to insult me *lol*. Our favorites by far are Guitar Hero (all of them especially World Tour), Rockband 2, Star Wars Lego series, Game Party, and Mario Kart (my personal favorites!). if you have kids, I highly recommend Mario Kart, we have a blast as a family playing that one.
