Hi,
I havent been to wdw in a while and when I read some of the other posts, I got a bit confused. Do you have to wear your tickets on your person??? Is this why people are looking for the lanyards??? last time we were at disney(2000), (going this year dec). We just used the pass to get into the park and that's the last we needed it. Do you have to show it again, during the day??? If so, I will start looking for the lanyards too!!

Thanks for your help.

You don't need to wear your pass, but people use the lanyards to keep their pass available - do you need it to use FastPass.

So people use the lanyards so it's easier for them to get their FastPasses, not because Disney requires you to wear your pass.

Hope this helps!!

Also, you would need them for park hopping but it def makes it easier at the Fastpass distribution line to have the tixs easily accessible. I usually designate myself the "keeper of the passes" that way all the tix for our party are together and we don't need to collect from each member each time we want a Fastpass.

Thank You!!!
I dont remember having to use the tickets for the fast pass, last time we were in wdw. But>>>>>>as we get older the memory fades!!!
Thanks again and I will look for those lanyards!!

We all wear our tickets in our plastic lanyard zip case. It makes it easier for park hopping and fastpass. But our biggest reason for wearing our AP, is that in restaurants, gift shops, etc., they (CM) see our pass and automatically apply our discounts. So many times I forget about using the AP discounts, because we're so into the disney magic of eating & purchasing!

For us, it's easier for each person to be in charge of their own tickets. It's easier to get one replaced if lost, than an entire family's tickets if lost.

If you do purchase a lanyard, I recommend the ones in the parks, because they're heavier plastic with a nice slide zipper. The ones we purchased at Wal-Mart were cheaper, but they were so thin that they didn't hold up well on water rides. Our tickets got wet, and DD's got soggy and tore and we had to get hers exchanged for a new one that worked in the entrance machine.

are the tickets into the park still paper or have they switched to plastic cards (like a credit card)? I have lanyards to carry our passes but now worried about traveling to water parks with them and ruining them if paper. :confused3

You can buy waterproof cases that hang around your neck at the water parks. They last forever! And they work!

We bought tickets at The Disney Store before we left and they are the credit card type- however they did not go through the gate machines well and we had trouble with them getting caught in the fast pass machines so we traded them in the next day for paper ones. We found a holder on a zip line with a clip at one of the stores on main street. My husband kept all out tickets, room keys and fast passes in the holder and clipped it in his pocket. We were worried before we got it about the tickets getting bent, ripped, wet or lost- we had no problems with it!

It's always a good idea to keep your pass handy for FastPass machines, but the ID badge holder I use also contains my room key, FP slips, and PhotoPass card, all within easy reach.

I also park-hop, which means I need my pass more than once during the day.

And while I'm wearing the lanyard, I keep a nametag in it so people from the boards will recognize me.
