do you wear things in the parks that you would not wear at home?

In the last year I have been trying to upgrade my wardrobe ala What Not To Wear - more sophisticated, more put together, etc. I have pretty much eliminated t-shirts and sweatshirts from my wardrobe - well, a few dressier t-shirts that can be layered, but the rest are gone. I am wearing more heels and cute flats and sneakers only for the gym.

However, most of what I know where seems awfully dressy for Disney. I do still have a pair of crocs and a pair keens in my closet.

Is there a difference between how you dress at disney and how you dress at home?

Not for me. I wear what makes me comfortable and what I don't mind being photographed in.

we were whatever we are comfortable in when we are down there. we tend to wear more t shirs there then we would at home but that is only because they are more comfortable. also i tend not to wear mouse ears at work but would do so there

Good for you, Brina! Stacy and Clinton have helped many of us be a bit more put together even for every day.

When we were at WDW last month, I wore sneakers every day even though I would have preferred to wear cute flats. I was just fearful (I think realistically so) that my feet would pay the price if I went with fashion rather than function. And we clearly walked miles every day.

Layering was the key for the changing December weather so I will say that few saw that I tried to pull together a decent look since I almost always had my new Lands End fleece on!

I wear the loudest shirts I can get my hands on at Disney but at home they remain on the hanger.

No I wear my Disney tshirts and stuff at home, still carry my Disney purses, have on my disney earrings now, etc. I would never wear 'dressy' clothes to the parks but I have seen people that do that beore. I say wear whatever floats your boat.

I wear disney shirts at the world, but I wouldn't wear a disney shirt at home. My co-workers would make fun of me! (I do not have to dress up for work, t-shirt and jeans every day). I also wouldn't wear shorts with tennis shoes at home because I don't like the way it looks on me, at disney, it is all about compfort! Oh, and I would never go out without my makeup, but I will at Disney!

Not really. I'll wear my Disney t-shirts the same at home as I would there - usually my pjs unless its a nicer top, like the pink Splash Mountain one I got last time. I prefer to be comfortable since I'm on vacation, but most of what I wear on a regular basis is nice, casual, and comfortable clothing. I wear jeans or shirts with nice t-shirts and other shirts that I wouldn't worry about wearing to a job.

Well, I tend to dress up a lot at home..heels, nice tops and pants, etc... I used to pack some of these outfits for disney, but I hardly bother anymore...Comfort is the key!!! In disney,, I tend to dress "down" a bit.

More or less yes. I would not wear heels or wedges to Disney, and if I wore flats I wouldn't wear those at Disney either. Teva Mush flip flops all the way at Disney.

Also, outside of doing yard work, I would not wear a tank top (without a tee layered over it) at home. However if I'm going to Disney when it is going to be hot, I prefer to be comfortable and will wear a tank top in the name of comfort. Same goes for moisture wicking tees.

Also I try and avoid wearing shorts at home, but as long as the weather calls for it, I wear them at Disney. The shorts I take to Disney are the same ones I wear at home when I do wear shorts.

The name of the game is being as cool and comfortable as possible at Disney.

No.

Except for bling.

For example I would not go around town with a lime green mickey head.

Our family color coordinates in Disney. It makes for nice pictures. We also can be caught wearing embroidered shirts with Mickey or Minnie on them. I always call our Disney clothes disposable as we don't wear them at home. Thankfully, I have an embroidery machine so it's not expensive just the price of a tshirt or polo.

A fanny pack! I certainly don't wear one at home, but it comes in soooo handy to hold the few items I need at the parks, while keeping my hands free.

Yes and no.

I usually do Disney in the summer, so it's all about fighting the heat. I'll wear tennis skirts and running skirts at Disney, as the fabric wicks away sweat and dries quickly after water rides. Wouldn't be caught dead wearing them at home. Otherwise, I wear tanks, but I wear those at home too. Sundresses too - and those I'll wear at home too.

As far as footwear at WDW - flip flops and walking sandals. That's it.

i wear more of my disney t-shirts at WDW than i do at home. although i do wear a few at home regularly. I wear my disney hoodies all the time, everywhere at home too.

i carry my D&B disney purse at home too.

the only thing i don't wear at home would be my mouse ears or mickey headband etc. or big mickey embroidered back pack!

at the world, i wear what is comfortable. lots of walking. I only bring tennis shoes and one pair of flip flops. Flats are not going to cut it for me. and heels, forget about it. I guess if you have really comfy flats, maybe, but i haven't found any i could walk 5 miles in through the parks, get wet etc. (and we walk/move fast!). So i could care less about being 'fashionable' in the world. i still don't look like a dirt bag either (don't wear my pajamas, holes in my clothes or anything!), but i am comfy for sure!

yes, I wear things in Disney but will not wear at home. I will not color coordinate my family at home or any of our outings but at Disney I color coordinate our outfits and have my husband and Son were the same Polos. I wear the Disney Crocs only in Disney.

Yes, to a small extent. I usually only wear my walking shorts in public at WDW. At home they're more of a loungewear thing, but they're just so comfortable for a full day of walking.

Otherwise it's pretty much the same wardrobe everywhere, though I tend to pack my best clothes for vacation.

I always wear Disney tshirts and baseball caps at WDW. I also proudly sport a fanny pack and backpack! The backpack and fanny pack are purely Disney gear, but I still wear my Disney shirts, hats and everything else when I'm not in the "World."

Agreed ^^^^ :thumbsup2

I do wear different things at the parks as I am not a T Shirt person, and it is too cool here to ever think of wearing shorts. I do love my jeans on weekends, but then - too hot when we go to Disney. I also have to dress "properly" for work so Disney means I ditch the heels for Crocs, lose the suit jacket and grab some shorts and usually a cotton blouse or strappy top.

You have to feel comfortable, but as mentioned above, you are going to be photographed plenty so keep it in mind when getting dressed in the morning. :)
