I do have to say that the picture of the soldier with the gun pointed made me feel proud of our troops. I heard he was given a chance to be taken in alive and resisted, so it was his choice to die.

I've read several places that he did resist. He was given the chance to surrender peacefully.

My biggest fear is retaliation from Al-Queida. That will depend on how loyal his followers really were. Were they loyal out of fear of him? Or are they truly as evil as he was!? If they do retaliate, I am afraid that it will be bigger devestation than the world trade centers were.

Turning to flee maybe? Of course there are people who will view it as an execution style murder no matter what (I couldn't care less if he was executed, to be honest)...they're on this thread, so why wouldn't there be more out there? There could be a video put out showing the whole thing, and there'd be people saying it was doctored.

I don't remember...when did they show Saddam? I know there were pictures/videos out there NOT distributed by our government. Did they ever officially do that? And at what point, and in what condition? I did read somewhere that they "cleaned up" his two sons after they were killed before they put pictures out, because the conditions of their bodies were so bad.

Geez, people...this happened yesterday. Every move our government makes is going to be scrutinized. They can't just put those pictures out there...there are a lot of reasons both pro and con. They're having the same debates everyone is discussing here. This isn't black and white. People want instant "gratification", for lack of a better word. This is BIG. I swear, some people expect that Obama should have done a powerpoint presentation at the original press conference, complete with pictures, video, and the secrets of what methods they're using to track terrorists.

I just had a LOL moment. I remember on Phil Donahue (WAY back), a woman in the audience saying something to the affect that how can we trust a president (Carter) who didn't come forward sooner with the fact that he had hemorrhoids.

dngn--talking head=TV commentator/news personality. I believe the other poster was referring to the fact that Geraldo and other TV personalities have mistakenly referred to Osama as Obama.

Talking head is used to say people dont think and just read. I moderate a political board.

Had I wish to troll, I would have left the mistakes in my post. As you can see, I changed the spelling, and apologized.

The snarky remark was trolling, and flaming, as you can see in the future posts.

Im no fan of Obama, Ive made that clear, but my error was just that, an error. And I apologized to the board for the error. If the POTUS was here, I would apologize to him as well. Those who talk on TV are often referred to as talking heads. That isn't anything new.

As for seeing the body, for what purpose? How would anyone even really know it was him? You'd see someone dressed in Arabic clothing who had a beard. There'd never be any way to know whether it was him or not.
