Hi all, just wanted to get a sense of how those on DISboards like to use their DVC membership.

We do one or two trips a year, just the two of us.
We do one family vacation a year 7-14 days taking our 5 kids and a fiance or friend. Two of these trips we have brought along another family.

Next year we are taking parents, brother's family of 4, and a friend of our daughter on our family trip to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary of my parents and daughter's HS graduation.

It is fun to watch others enjoy the wonder of DW while staying in the villas - an experience they would otherwise not be able to afford.

Nope. We tried it for our last trip and everyone cancelled on us. Don't know if we'll try it again.

Our trips to WDW are typically just our family. We did a big reunion type trip with 18 of us a few years ago and that was fun.

Now the kids are older so I can see some of their friends joining us now.

I guess we have been fortunate that we have invited people with integrity. People who offer to pay at time of reservation, and understand they can not cancel. Hope our luck holds up!

Our Disney trips are always with extended family and/or friends. Even if we take only our adult children and grandson that's seven of us. Our upcoming DL trip is with my sister and her family along with our grandson, for a total of 8. In January will be on the Panama cruise with DH's cousin and his wife with us.

On average, DH and I do 2 trips each year with just the two of us and one trip with extended family including some combination of our parents, siblings, nieces/nephews. We haven't taken any friends with us yet, just family.

Historically we've been about EOY as a larger family trip but we're really up to about EY right now. We'll likely take a break the next 2 years though as we have summer trips planned that will exclude family (AK cruise, HI 3 weeks) though we'd be happy for some of them to come if we could get enough space feasibly. Given that most are tied to school calendars, that means likely no such trip for a couple of years or if we're able to do anything, it'll be a much smaller group. Just got back from HH last night and had 21 people in four 2 BR units.

We have taken some trips with just the 4 kids still living at home with us and some trips with our grown son, his wife and our grandkids. They would like to go on every trip with us but it's not really in their budget to do that. My sister and her husband are also DVC members now and we are planning to travel together in 2012. We've invited our mother and her husband to join us for that trip. I'm sure my husband and I will take some trips with no kids after they have all moved out but still expect to have several or all of them join us often.

Usually do 3 trips per year and maybe one will have family and or friends.

We often bring my mom and sister along. That's why we bought DVC in the first place.

I originally bought DVC for my mom and I to travel. She has since passed away so I bring friends or go solo. So I guess I would fall under "other".

For us, the entire point of buying DVC was to provide a way to vacation with friends and family. Haven't done a trip without at least one other group joining us yet.

We love introducing others to our LOVE of WDW and we also LOVE being able to treat our parents to spend special time with their granchildren....BUT we really LOVE :love::love: our time at WDW just the four of us - our family- our time. So we typically do one just us and one with one set of grandparents each year.

Nope...only us (so far). We have a very specific way of touring (TGM) and I couldn't imagine having to plan that type of itinerary for anyone that wanted Disney to actually be a vacation. :rotfl: It would be fun one day to try and do a Disney vacation with family or friends (we do with other destinations) but, if we did, they would have to take the TGM oath as well and stick to it.

We used to bring family and friends all the time, but lately it's just been the two of us. Now our "family and friends" trips are years apart instead of months apart.

We have only made one trip "home" and it has MIL with us. We traveled with small children, so the extra hands helped. We are also going in Dec. on a DVC, DCL stay, and MIL and FIL will be joining us. But, in April it will just be me and DW at BLT (finally)!

Most of our timeshare stays, DVC or otherwise, include friends and family. Sometimes we share a unit with another couple (if the unit has suitable sleeping/bathroom configuration) but more often we book multiple units.

We have another family that we travel with. They treated us last time to DVC (before we bought) and we treated them this last trip as now we are owners. :thumbsup2

DS(13) and I always travel with one or two of his best buddies & their parents, both family friends for 10 years +. Thankfully we all like to vacation the same way so it's been really wonderful to share our DVC with them. I always book 2brs to ensure that we are all comfortable.

Also, we host a family reunion every 3 years or so, where we are between 9 and 11 family members, so it's an OKW GV for those occasions. 2012 will be the 4th time, we have family from France, England, Tennessee & New York. None of this would be possible without DVC, it's been a blessing!
