Do you use priceline for rental cars?

Hi:
I've never used Priceline and admit to being totally ignorant on how it works. If I make a bid, is there any guarantee I will get either National, Alamo or Budget at MCO? Do you have to go to the check in desk when you arrive or do you go straight to the garage?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi there, I am a chronic priceline user.
We'll typicall stay in downtown toronto at a 4* Sheraton for 40-50-night.

yesteday got a rental car from there. I posted the details on the feb rental thread.

just a couple of tips.....compare hotwire and other sites so you have an idea. I HIGHLY recommended reading the betterbidding website.

we paid 140 including all fees, in airport pickup at alamo, midsize, feb 3-10.

there is no guarantee in regards to car companies, but they are all the major ones, so they ought to be in the airport. abit of a gamble, but always a great company, what can you expect for $11/day base.

Did you have to wait in line or did you just go out to the garage and show your paperwork at the booth?

betterbidding.com is wise, plus the comparison suggest is great. I've booked through DFW ... no issues, just expect extra fees above your bid, plus expect to be offered insurance. You should research your options there ... I select it, but that's just me.

I've only rented through DFW ... so no experience with MCO. I have used priceline for air from BOS to DFW and at least 20 hotels. I love it ...

Priceline works with the major rental car companies, there is no guarantee who you will end up with until after your bid is accepted and charged. I used priceline last year and again for our trip this coming May to MCO, I paid $155for a 7 day mid size car in May this year and $145 last year with Hertz. I did not have to wait in line, but I did have to use the kiosk to check in and get my car. It was very simple, even using the shuttle to get to Hertz, not a porblem.

Any other questions feel free to PM me.

Good Luck

Lisa

I rented through priceline back on December 10-15 at MCO. My bid of $12 was excepted for a compact. After fees, the total was ~$100 for the 5 days. The weekly rental would have been the same price. I was a little nervous because the rental was through Hertz which is off property. I just got an $11 rental offer via email last week.

When we were headed out to the Hertz bus another rental agent was positioned near the exit and offered to give us a better price. I don't remember the rental company. With priceline you are locked into the agreement.

No problems getting to the offsite terminal and back to the airport. The bus was waiting and made one stop on the airport. Another bus was arriving as we were pulling away.
