I signed up for Ebates awhile back but have never used it. How does it work. I use them to go through to other website to get deals on stuff and in turn I get a % of cash back?

Does the cash back go into an account and you have to use it online or do they send you a check?

There is a deal on Disney tickets through ebates and Orbitz I was looking into. It says 10% cash back and the purchase would be almost $600. So they would give me $60 back? No strings attached?

I just have them put mine in my paypal account . yes you just go to the wesite you want through ebates and it gives you the % no strings

So long as you go through the ebates link or have the toolbar installed and make sure ebates is activated you will get the % back no strings attached. I don't know about the paypal set up but the send me a paper check once a quarter so 4 times a year. You get a bonus if you refer someone and they make a qualified purchase during the promotion period, right now it is $10 per qualified referral..

Thanks for the info. I am thinking about buying the Disney tickets through ebates and Orbitz I am just reluctant to try it. But getting 10% back is tempting when you are spending $600.

The only thing is these tickets have restrictions and regular tickets don't.

I use ebates all the time and get a paper check once a quarter that goes into our vacation account. No strings attached, it's free money!

What all do you buy through ebates? Can you shop on Amazon through ebates? I swear I spend $3,000 a year shopping on Amazon easily.

ETA: Nevermind I found it on ebates. You can shop for specific stuff off Amazon. Not just anything in general.

They didn't offer Amazon at all not long ago - they have been slowly adding categories so I would keep an eye on it :) Free money for fairly little effort

I use it and have it deposited into my pp account. $41 this past quarter--not too bad.

ME TOO!
I use mypoints a lot too, so I tend to check there and ebates to see who has the better offer...although sometimes I find shopdiscover through my discover card has an even better deal. All the extra goes into the "dis" fund!
Ebates has also been quick to fix any issues I've had, and while I've only had it happen a couple of times, they've always been fixed.

I do and have managed to get at least $200 in rewards over the last few years. Mine goes into my Paypal, which I usually xfer to my checking account. But the last 2-3 times they've offered an extra buck or two if you take your reward as an Amazon gift card/credit. I just got mine yesterday!

I use it and have found that downloading the ebates to the toolbar is a great reminder. Also good to keep in mind that sometimes going through your credit cards shopping program like Discover offers earns you more and you can't use both. So when discover offers 15% from groupon and ebates only offers 3% I sign in to my Discover and use that over ebates. You have to be careful though
because somethings on groupon like groupon goods do not qualify for the 15% from Discover. It's a game but it's always fun to save and I do enjoy getting those ebates checks.

I like Ebates, I've switched over to Ebates from Mypoints. I find I'm happy with one at a time. :) I have gotten 3 payments since I started 8-9 months ago. The first 2 I had them deposit it directly into my Paypal, but this last one they gave me the option of an Amazon gift card, with an extra $1 as incentive, so I did that.

I will suggest you try to keep track somewhat of what you bought, and check every so often to make sure your cash back has posted. I usually give it about a month and if it hasn't posted I send them the info and they post the credit to my account. I keep a separate folder in my e-mail with online shopping receipts and every so often I check.

Ironic, I just got my "Big Fat Check" today. I don't shop online religiously, but I usually end up with anywhere from $5-$20 quarterly. It's fairly easy to go through ebates.com first and get the credit back. They are legit :-D

I love shopping through ebates!! Money back just for shopping online, for things you were going to purchase anyway - I'm so there!! I'm in Canada so I have accounts with both ebates.ca and ebates.com (we live close to the border so I have my US packages delivered to our mailbox just across the border) so I get money back from shopping in both countries :)

I have accounts with both e-bates and mypoints. I prefer Ebates over mypoints because it's actually cash as opposed to a GC but I like to do the e-mail click and earn with mypoints and the coupons for points. Also every so often a website will offer points thru mypoints but not cash thru e-bates (I just had this happen with Cabela's).

Wow that's early. I didn't think checks went out until August 15th. Hope we get ours before we leave for vaca!

I get my ebate as an Amazon gift certificate (claim code). They send you the code and you apply it to your Amazon account and it's available to use instantly. :woohoo:

I have used Ebates for about 3 years and never, ever had a problem until the last 6 mos or so. Now, they are denying more and more of my purchases and I'm not happy. I'm being denied for things like having received 'free shipping' or having paid with a gift card.

I made over a $1000 purchase at Lowe's (washer/dryer) at the beginning of July. They were offering 6% back so I went through them and they denied the cashback because I paid with a gift card.

So, I've used them for years and they are legit and it is free money but I do wonder if they are changing a bit and not for the better.

I use Mypoints, ebates, and shopathome. The savings really do add up, and I shop online most of the time.

I compare ebates with Upromise. Upromise works pretty much exactly like ebates but instead of getting cash back, they deposit the money into a college investment account. When I shop online, I generally type in whatever website I'm shopping with on both sites and see who offers a higher percentage back, then I click through and shop as normal.
