We always unpack. I wipe out the drawers and line them with paper towel (it makes me feel better to clean them :) )

I don’t like digging through suitcases to find things. We put the suitcases away and don’t go into them until we pack up to go home.

We put ours on the suitcase rack. I mean, that's what it's for, right? To hold your suitcase

Ours just don’t fit. We are a family of four with lots of luggage and typically stay 14+ days. We usually roll the luggage into a corner or store it under the beds once we unpack. We also use packing cubes. Unpacking and putting everything away is a necessity for us in order to keep organized.

Actually, I’m at POFQ right now. I don’t even see a luggage rack. Is the narrow cushioned bench beside the drawers considered a luggage rack? If it is, not even one of my suitcases fits on that.

That's what we use it for when we stay at FQ. We have 30" suitcases and they fit fine. I didn't even realize they made bigger suitcases than that.
If we are at a mod without one I use the flat area (they all have something) and DH just pulls his out each day.
We do use packing cubes. I honestly don't know how anyone travels without them. They just make it easier to not unpack. No digging, no mess. To me, if you just sit those in a drawer you haven't changed anything over just taking them out of a suitcase. Treat the suitcase just as if it's a drawer, basically.

When we used to do more split stays we wouldn't bother unpacking....personally, I still wouldn't bother. We prefer to stay in one resort now and my wife likes to get settled in and unpack so that is how I voted.

I'm not a fan of stressing over things like bedbugs, so I live out of my suitcase and it is soooo much easier on check-out day. I travel light, and utilize ziplocs to seal off my stuff inside the suitcase. No digging, I know where everything is, and when I get home the ziplocks are easy to handle til the clothes get baked in the dryer. lol

Yes we do. Especially when we are in 1 or 2 bedroom units and there for 5-7 nights.

I'm pretty grossed out by the drawers. I doubt they are cleaned between every guest. I have stayed in more than one resort and opened drawers only to find someone else's things (everything from glow sticks to underwear)

Thats why you always travel with Clorox wipes!

Our smaller carry ons get stored inside the bigger luggage once we unpack. We are always looking for ways to maximize our living space at hotels so we’re not tripping over each other. I think that’s one of the reasons we enjoy value resorts and we don’t find them too small, even for longer trips.

Sort of. Wife unpacks her stuff and the boy's stuff and uses up all the drawers(leaving me with none... just like at home). I pack all my stuff in packing cubes so when I get to the resort if I have a shelf somewhere I stick the four cubes on the shelf. If no shelf I just leave all the cubes in my bag.

This past trip at CSR(just got back yesterday :( ) I had a little shelf in the bottom of the closet in the bathroom. Which was great because it allowed all of our bags to go up under the space below the bed.

Part of my bedbug check is to open all the drawers so yeah, we unpack into them after they are deemed safe.
Also we like to fly with only carry-on, so we have to buy things we didn't bring with us. And we are likely taking different things home with us, which means the whole bag gets repacked.

Our stays are usually for more than one week. Always unpack.I like to settle in. I use pretty much every hanger and drawer, as well as the cabinets and drawers in the bathroom vanities at BWV. I have a number of promotional bags of different colors and sizes that I use for items where wrinkles are not an issue. They are perfect for hanging on hooks on closet doors, etc. I use white tissue paper between clothes items that might wrinkle. Always a good result. I did just order 3 full packing cubes. We are doing a LOT of traveling this year. I want to test the cubes out during our upcoming WDW to check them out and decide if I should buy additional ones and which sizes work in the suitcases we use the most, Tumi and Kiplinger. The cubes will go right from suitcases to drawers and cabinets.

I unpack into the drawers and closet upon arrival, for easy access to all our stuff while we are there. Then as the items are used, they are stowed back into the suitcases in the closet. (Some of the laundry goes into bags depending upon how gross it is). By the last day, there is very little left to repack.

Back at home, everything gets run though the bedbug oven or hot dryer first thing.

Never unpack in any resort. Live out of our suitcase, never put suitcases or bags on floors, use the closet for hanging items. No thanks on any resort drawers.:scared1:

I worked in housekeeping for 3 different hotels back in the 90's. None were Disney, so maybe they operate differently, but we opened the drawers to make sure nothing was left behind. We didn't clean any of them.

I'm with jerseygal… :scared1:

I totally and completely live out of a suitcase because I’m afraid of cooties. I’ll hang stuff in the closet, but that’s the extent. It makes me miserable the entire trip, and every trip I complain about how messy my suitcase is, but I continue to do it.

Can you please tell me about the packing cubes? How does that make it easier? Do you keep your stuff in the cubes?

Which cubes are best? I ordered eagle creek full size. The smaller ones are redundant to my other packing strategies. Are there other brands that are preferable?

I typically never unpack my suitcases unless it’s to hang a few items up in the closet. Since we started using the packing cubes, I find it is a lot easier to keep things organized and I don’t find my suitcases becoming nearly as messy as they used to be. I keep similar items in each packing cube (e.g. underwear in a smaller cube and separate cubes for tops and bottoms) and I have sets of different coloured packing cubes so that each family member has their own colour. When you’re looking for something to wear in the morning, for example, it is easy to just pull out the individual cubes and get to the one(s) that you need. It has made a huge difference for us :).

I always live out of my suitcase. Makes for way easier packing to go home. The only thing that I take out and hang is my toiletry bag, otherwise, I just manage everything via packing cubes.
