I hear what you are saying. For me, I would be able to smell that they are different, and it feels like they are not clean. I am not an overboard crazy germ person, but we are clean people in the fact that we wash our hands regularly and never eat anything before we wash our hands. We also do not walk in a house with shoes on. I think they should have an area by the front doors where people take off their shoes and store them so they are not walking through the room with shoes on. But that is another thread. LOL

I'm with you on this! We do the same here too.

We use packing cubes whenever we travel. When our bags arrive to resort or ship, we move the cubes into drawers, closet, and back into the bag the night before departure. Works like a charm for us.

Yes, No shoes in the house!! And I would never walk around in a hotel room without shoes. Ew.

Ditto...we love packing cubes and use every hanger in the closet. Don't want to have to iron clothes when I'm on vacation.
What do you find is the best source for buying packing cubes? I’ve got a set of three that are more like rectangles but they are sure handy. I think I bought them at Tuesday Morning.

I literally move in as soon as I get there as long as I don't have anything planned immediately upon arrival. I don't like clutter so everything gets a place. Closet, drawers and counter shelves are all neatly taken advantage of. I'm sure mousekeeping appreciates it as well when they have to come in each morning.

Edit: I also take lysol wipes to wipe down the drawers before unpacking... just in case. I'm not really a germophobe but I read in the past that folks keep their dirty laundry in the drawers (eek).

We go for two weeks at a time so we unpack as soon as we arrive; no way could I live out of a suitcase for that long!

We unpack.

Generally, I have my clothes in bags within my suitcase--I use a ziplock bag for each day's outfit. I just take the bags out and put them in the drawers. A few things that wrinkle easier, I will take out and hang in the closet.

yep...that's why I keep my clothes inside the plastic bags I use. :)

We pack our clothes & things in plastic Ziploc bags for the flight down. Then when I unpack I use the bags to line all the drawers so our stuff doesn't come into contact with anything. I know there are still germs everywhere but it makes me feel better.

No shoes in our house growing up and in 35 years of marriage. Keeps the rugs and floors much cleaner!::yes::
With two dogs and two cats in our house, shoes aren't going to matter that much. Even if we had to trod through the fields to get to the house. No carpet does help though. Now I can see all the hair and dirt.

We unpack as soon as we get to our room! I do bring perioxide wipes and do a quick wipe down of draws and w/e I am inclined. Place packing cubes in drawers, Hang up what needs to be. Plop (very minimum) make up bag on counter, place travel shampoo/conditioner in shower, line up shoes. Easy peasy! Finished and organized for the week in under 10 minutes!

After staying in a very nice hotel and finding out that we brought home bed bugs, I will never use the drawers in hotels again. I will hang my clothes, but never use an enclosed area like a drawer.

I pretty much always live out of my suitcase when I'm traveling. Suitcase goes on the luggage rack/bench (last couple Disney trips were to French Quarter) or a chair, and stays there through my whole stay.

I'll take things out and stash them somewhere in the room (usually on the luggage rack) if I'm traveling light (only a backpack) and need to use my backpack for something else, but generally won't use drawers if the hotel has them. Not really a cleanliness thing; it's more a fear that I'll forget I put something in a drawer and leave it there.

Maybe it's because there are 5 of us, but if we didn't unpack we'd be tripping over each other's suitcases constantly! When we stay with family and have more room to spread out, we don't unpack. But at Disney (or any hotel) it's one of the first things we do.

We always unpack, but spray or wipe down drawers first.
