Do you think you look your actual age? (UPDATE p. 19, post 272)

You look as great as your daughter, Feralpeg! Let's hear it for we "older" ladies!!

I'll be celebrating the big 5-0 myself in two weeks. I have NEVER looked my age and for most of my life that's been A BAD THING! Now I can enjoy it!

Thanks! Turning 50 is not such a bad thing. People don't expect as much from you. Take advantage!

Actually, she did post her age in a reply a few posts back.... :teeth:
Shut up! What was it? Which thread? Michie, you little....now if we can only get your whereabouts out of you.

Just re-read the whole thing...no age. :rolleyes2

I used to look younger than my age. But over the last couple of years time has caught up with me IMO. I'm now 41 and look it.

ETA: DW will be 36 in two weeks and she got carded at the grocery store last week.

I'm 32. People always guess younger.

I won't post a picture for the fear that all the men (and possibly women) will fall in love with me and stalk me. :guilty:

Do I look 35?

I always thought I was hot stuff because I'm 39 and get carded at the grocery store. Then a cashier finally told me they have to card everyone and enter a birthyear or something in the register before the alcohol will ring up.

Aw hey, I'm 39 and I probably look it. And I usually don't believe people when they say, "Oh, you don't look 39!" What are they going to say, "Lord, I would've guessed a lot older?" Well, except maybe Tigger&Belle--she'd probably say it. :teeth:

Ooops - I thought you were talking about Mommau4's age! :duck:

It's ok hon. The mind is the first thing to go. :rotfl:

I am 34 and when people meet me they think I am more like 24. I do look young for my age. I sometimes have to show people my driver's license to prove that I really am that old.

I have picture envy right now. :teeth: Maybe I'll post something later...

Ladies, looking good! :thumbsup2

Yikes! :earseek: The two of you that guessed just proved me wrong. I'm not at all upset though, as for once it would be nice to not hear "OH MY GOD, you're married?! You're too young! How old are you?". God forbid DH and I ever mention starting a family! :rotfl:

But you were both quite a ways off

ETA:Any other guesses before I post the truth? Although I guess it would be sort of an unfair guess after my reaction ;)

Tink, you 29 and your mom 48. Keep in mind that I'm really bad at guessing someone's age.

You can't always go with the ol' "people think I'm younger than I really am" because *people* tend to be very cautious and say nice things--being polite and we all know how a compliment makes us feel about ourselves and about the person who gave it to you!

Exactly, you really can't believe what anyone says regarding age and looks.

But we humans will always choose to believe what makes us feel better about ourselves!

And NO ONE sees themselves the way others see them!

;)

Oh and btw, I choose to really believe what everyone tells me ;) that I really DO look at least 20 years younger, maybe 30 (nah, then I'd be 10) because I'm a runner, watch my weight, use Crest Whitestrips, never wear mom jeans, and on and on, GAG me!!!!)

;)

Except this time, its true.

Yes, it really is!

(Just had to check out this thread after reading about it on the "perfection" thread. Great reading on a cold, Friday winter night! Thanks, all! ;) )

I don't think anyone who has posted a picture looks a great deal younger than their stated age (with the exception of one or two) BUT I must say that when someone tells you that "you look younger" they are going on much more than what your face looks like! There is a certain way we carry ourselves (posture, agility, a sparkle in the eye, how we laugh!) that are signs of how old we are. Even our voice can make a person guess older or younger than what we are. I just think we need to see someone in person, hear them speak and how they move, before deciding how old they look...JMHO. :)

Goodness! Only on the DIS (well and maybe every other message board around) could this be construed as anything as but a fun thread.

ANYWAY, for anyone that cares....

I'm only 22, my mom is almost 42. So you all got the age difference right on, that should count for something! ;)

Let's just hope that you all are correct right now (as I am honored you think I a bit older  ) and that when I'm 50 those other people are right and I will look younger. Not too much to ask, right :rotfl2:

Hey!!! You of all people would appreciate this one--I was at the neurologist last week and instead looking at my chart he asked me my age so I told him that I'd had my 6th anniversary of my 39th birthday. The look on his face was priceless! :rotfl2: Leave it to me to use that line on the dr.

And until you brought my name up I'd stayed away from this thread for good reason. When I was young and stupid (as opposed to old and stupid like I am now) I looked very young for my age. Probably did until I was 25-30yo. I married young and looked like such a baby in those pictures (I was, but I looked REALLY young). Now I look my age, but it's kind of depressing that I want to look young for my age and I don't.

BUT, maybe with my non-mom jeans I will. :rotfl2: Or maybe not... :lmao: And if you haven't stopped by that thread and given your 2 cents worth about men's butts you really should! :teeth:
