Do you think we'll see more deals for Canadians?

Wondering with the dollar being the pits if we will see more deals for Canadians to get us to head down to Disney/Universal. I know that I've gotten a few e-mails from Universal offering Canadian only deals. I also got a Canadian only free dinning starting in the middle of August. I know Disney has done this before but I know they didn't have it two years ago when we went as the dollar was just below par. Do that many Canadians go to make a difference to Disney? On the other hand the Euro isn't very good either so are there less Europeans coming as well? Think the British Pound is better so they still might be ok. So with the American economy being good are there enough Americans to fill the gap left by Canadians and Europeans who are putting off coming? Would deep discounts make a difference? Does Disney give deep discounts or is the best we get is free dinning and usual 20%, 25% and 30% off rooms? We are planning to go in two years but if the dollar is still bad (and I hope that is not the case) it will take us another year to save enough to make up the difference especially if we are look at 30 or 40 per cent difference.

I think they're going to have to before too long, with the rate at which our dollar is dying.

Given the reports of high occupancy rates at the Disney Resorts and current discounts with only limited availability, I don't think Disney needs the extra business badly enough to make special discounts available just to Canadians. As nice as that would be for us.

We took our kids to WDW for their first time 12 years ago. The dollar was poor and business was slow for Disney so they were offering "Canadian at Par" packages...we just booked the room and tickets with them and we were charged in Canadian funds. We were just in Disney a few weeks ago and every resort was pretty much at full occupancy so I guess they have no need to offer us any deals at this point.

I doubt it. Like others said the Canadian market is so small to them and the resorts are running almost full all the time. There is no incentive for them to give us a break when the can fill it with full price paying guests.

I know the American economy is doing very well right now but no one else is so you wonder how long it will be before it slows down as well. When all your trading partners are having issues then its eventually got to effect you as well. I guess that's when we might begin to see some good deals. I just want to see a stronger dollar for when we plan to go in two years but I guess we'll see what happens.

Considering the BB for Aug 2016 for FD has been pushed back to Aug 26th, I seriously doubt any at par deals are in the offing.

Yes, this is so disappointing as it starts on the 20th this year (that's when we arrive at POFQ for FD). If you have to be back for Labor Day, it really is such a short window for a trip next August. Hoping that it starts a week earlier for Canadians (fingers crossed). I see you are off to the BC soon - we arrive there in 17 days for a few nights (room only) ... so excited to hit SAB! Have a great trip!

Yes it is disappointing. It'll be interesting to see in 2016 if they have earlier FD for us in Aug. I was going to book a BB while we are there just in case we changed our mind about US next year, but this makes the decision easier I guess :confused3.

We're excited for SAB too! Can't wait ! Hope you have a great trip as well!

low canadian dollar seems to have cancelled out any savings from my FD plan. we are booked for december, have til end of october to decide if we can do it.

still hopeful...i keep texting my friend who is a bank manager to ask her if $ back at par yet! ;)
