do you think we could upgrade half our stay to a one bedroom???

SSr still have one bedrooms availible for our 6 night stay in 19 days.Would disney let us upgrade 3 or 4 nights of our stay to a one bedroom? I dont know if this would count as 2 bookings and I presume would have to do it in the UK as to upgrade there would be rack room not the 40% discounted room.Any ideas. It is another £210 to upgrade to a one bedroom for the 6 nights

Now I may be wrong about this, but I think you would be better upgrading in the US. If you booked a package through Disney UK they can be a bit iffy about changing part of it. If I were you I would phone Disney UK to find out what their take is on this. In the very likely event that this is not a feasible option, when you get to SSR ask at the desk about an upgrade for whichever dates you want to apply it to. It will obviously be subject to availability and as you say, you will pay rack rate for your room.

The difficulty with Disney UK is that they are not open to amendments without penalty on full packages. Your SSR reservation has dining (free? I dont know if you opted for FD with this as not sure how you bought tickets for your split stay). They would be able to add days or upgrade your entire stay without a problem, but I am not so sure that they will be terribly accommodating about tweaking part of a package reservation.

How did you book SSR? Was it a stand-alone room only booking? If so, no problem. If it has free dining attached I think they may give you a hard time.

I know they are doing a split stay anyway. I just can't remember which resort had the dining and tickets attached to the booking. If it was AKL I think they will be okay. Let's hope. Alyson? Come back

Nah Lee I have the full works at SSR.DVC with AKLV and paying for the DDP. Ah well.I know they will let me upgrade for the 6 nights as previously asked but money a bit tight.If DB gets a few more shifts in may do it as I have heard the one bedrooms are worth the extra £40 odd a day. Luke did you have astudio?

Yeah we had a studio, there were only two of us so it was perfect, definitely wouldn't be great for any more tho IMO

Hmmm thats what I thought and with an excited 8 year old and all her soft toys it may be a squeeze. May have to do a car boot.Will find some pics of 1 bedroom and have a think.Better hurry though.

Hi Aly - soon be time, bet your excited now - not sure if the rooms are the same size as OKW but if they are we went to have a look at Nigels studio last week and i would say plenty big enough for the 3 of you, in all fairness how much time will you spend in there, obviousley your choice, just make sure you have a great time what ever you decide

oh and my offer to carry the cases still stands

I must say we were just great in a studio with the three of us - DD 8 too and at least 8 cuddly toys!!

We have booked a 2 bed for next year but that is because we are taking more family with us. If it was just the three of us I would be right back in a studio.

But everyone is different - I would rather put the extra towards another trip.

Mart dont you think you are all disneyd out now after 3 weeks he studios are smaller than OKW I know that and a different layout. Prob wont upgrade as just decided not to do aquatica and have aspare day so I am going shopping.After all its the day after my big 40

If that's not enough; there is a picture thread on the subboard of the resortboard here on the DIS solely about SSR. You'll have to sort through all pics of the resort but I know there are multiple in them of 1 bedrooms.

Personally, I wouldn't bother just for part of a stay. for me it would have to be the whole stay or I would stick with a studio.

I would of thought you would be fine in the studio we were really surprised with the size the only thing that could be bigger is the bathroom x
