Do you think there will be a ticket discount?

I was planning a huge trip for October to Disneyland. It is safe to say DL may not open in time and if so California is just a mess right now. It is just not worth it. We have started planning a back up plan to WDW but I came across a buy two get two ticket deal at Universal. We are pretty interested in that. Im wondering is WDW will have a similar deal coming for the fall.

I don't expect that we'll see tickets by themselves discounted. They may offer discounted packages (room+tickets), but that's only a guess on my part. Disney doesn't seem to be trying to get people other than APs and Florida residents to come.

No, Disney won't do anything that would create too much demand for the foreseeable future. Ironically, despite the complaining on the internet, the high ticket prices are helping Disney control the crowd levels.

Yeah, I looked at the USO deal. We can buy four 2 park-to-park 4 day tickets (good until Dec. 2021), stay 4 nights at Royal Pacific with Express Pass included for $2100 all in for 4 people. Or I can buy 4 one park a day WDW tickets for 4 people that expire days after first use for $1950. Seriously considering the USO deal this time. Almost $2000 for 4 tickets for 4 days with NO park hopping and NO fireworks, parades, shows, etc. Yeah, low crowds but...

If one of my teens wasn't begging for one last WDW trip before graduation, we would 100% be doing the USO package instead for all of the reasons you mentioned. RP is our favorite USO hotel and the amazingness of the express pass system cannot be overstated IMO!
