Do you think the week of Sept 5 - 9th is going to be really busy?

Hi

We were planning on taking a trip to Disneyland for a few days sometime during the week of Sept 5 - 9. I just realized that the race is that weekend before and Monday is Labor day...do you think that this will be a really busy week to visit? (this is the best time for us to visit in Sept. but we would prefer to avoid big crowds if possible, we dont get to visit that often).

Thank you :)

I would guess that crowds will have died down quite a lot as that Tuesday (the 6th?) rolls around. Any California school that didn't go back earlier, definitely goes back that week, as is the case with most districts in the entire country. So, that will affect crowds a LOT.

If POTC wasn't going down the day after Labor Day, I'd probably be trying to get there myself that week. Also, remember that HM will be down, as well. And doublecheck Screamin' because it goes down in Sept. too, I just can't remember which date. :thumbsup2

Screemin goes down the 6th. POTC the 7th. That probably is a good indicator of crowds dropping those days. Lucky for the OP they will have a day or two to get them in and then have slow days for the other rides.

Also keep in mind that on the 8th DL is scheduled to close extra early, 6pm.

We will be there that same time. We figure that most of the week should be pretty calm but what about Labor Day? Is it super busy? How does it compare to spring break crowds? (We have been over spring break twice and it was crazy busy.)

Going by previous years it should actually be very nice, crowd wise. My birthday is the 10th and I've gone that week leading up to it and the crowds were very low. It was also the year of the first D23 convention so it did get busier at nights furing the weekend, but overall I don't think you really need to worry too much about crowds.

Why are the rides "going down"? What does that mean, they will be closed?

Alos, why is Disneyland closing at 6pm on 9/8? I only remember CA Adventure closing at 6pm in the fall. Thanks for letting me know, that's too bad. :(

This was my thought too, we really dont want to go if it will be crazy busy. I am nervous about the holiday where most businesses and schools are out. Hmmm...it is so hard to predict.

Yes the rides will be down/closed to be worked on. I still haven't heard why the early close on the 8th. Probably a private party on that night. DCA will be open to 8pm. You can see the hours on the calendar.

Like Bella said, for being a 3 day weekend it isn't horrible. It will probably feel like a light Spring Break Day.
