Do you think that QVC & HSN have good deals?

Do you actually get deals from QVC & HSN or is it more about the convenience of shopping online/over the phone? Every now and again I will see something that looks like a pretty decent price, but then the shipping & handling charges seem way too high. I love watching the shows they do with the holiday foods, but the prices seem astronomical to me for food.

I stay away from QVC and HSN clothes, but if a line like the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis jewelry comes on, I usually buy a mid-priced piece. I'm a dork, but I love wearing a piece of jewelry that looks exactly like something JKO wore. I used to buy the Susan Lucci hair products, but they aren't worth the price.

No, I don't think they have great deals but are usually comparable to elsewhere. I find their shipping charges high (especially QVC) and can often find the same/similar items from another online store with free shipping.

I will buy something from them here and there but not all that often.

I used to buy alot from QVC, mostly jewelry. I've noticed that their quality has gone down hill. I bought a diamonique bracelet on clearance last month and the first day I wore it a stone fell out. I returned it and got the credit pretty quick.

It's like most stores, some deals are better than others. I think the food is expensive but that type of food is expensive no matter where you buy it.

I have gotten some good deals on jewelry, we cruise a lot so I have shopped for jewelry and know when they are offering a good deal.

They also have a great selection on Birkenstocks and Birki's. I think their prices are really good, especially when it's a Today's Special Value.

They have a great return policy. They also offer some things that you can't get anywhere else.

I think their shipping is in line with what you pay if you ship it yourself, shipping has gotten really expensive.

I love QVC! I buy a lot from them. I always look for the free shipping or easy pay items. :thumbsup2

It depends on what you get. You can always comparison shop with other sites online. If I'm looking for a big ticket item like a TV, etc, I'll comparison shop, but I like to use QVC/HSN for their easy pays. It beats carrying a balance on a credit card and having to pay interest.

Generally the cost of convenience of buying online/by phone is less than the cost of overhead associated with operating a brick-and-mortar store.

I was on a cruise recently and they had the replica Jackie O jewelry and it was GORGEOUS. I'll have to see what they have.

I have bought from QVC. Most of the time when I buy it is stuff that is just not available in my area or exclusive to QVC.

It is convenient. My sister just bought an 8qt electric roaster off QVC for Thanksgiving.

I have not bought anything for a long while.

Heck I am just now getting into online shopping this year.:lmao:

Really?? Unbelievable!!(said the Geico Bird in the Hand Lady) :lmao:

Actually, what cruise line did you see the jewelry on?

I get into swings where I become addicted to shopping from QVC/HSN. We've gotten the "green pans" a few years ago and I loved them so I bought them for gifts for my parents. Just recently I purchased a mattress cover that they claimed would "save my mattress", guess what, WE LOVE IT! We just bought a new jet printer that I saw in the BF ads for the same price (we got free shipping and easy pay) so I was happy with that purchase cause there's no way I'd be getting up and fighting crowds for a printer.

Sometimes I'll order makeup although I've sent much of it back.
I like the easy returns around this time of year! They really get me sucked in sometimes!

To the OP: Did you see the cakes from the HeeHaw lady? 2 cakes were $55!! But man, they looked so GOOD! I ALMOST justified it!!

My MIL is a QVC addict. Just about every gift we receive is from QVC (and we are grateful for every one!) but most of the items can be bought elsewhere for much less. It is also a pain to have to ship something back for a return if something doesn't fit then be left with a credit and have to find something else. She bought my DD16 a vinyl faux leather jacket one year to match one she bought for herself. Just what every teenager wants, right - to match their grandmother in fake leather jackets?

I have never seen anything that was a bargain once you add in shipping. :confused3

I didn't see the cakes, but I love to watch the food episodes. My husband and I play "guess that price." Then the shipping charges on the food are super high because they ship with ice packs.

I purchase something from QVC once or twice a year.

I think that HSN and QVC's heydays were 15-20 years ago, before online shopping was available. I think that there are still some good deals, but it isn't quite the same since we can Google anything. There are even browser add-ons to automatically comparison shop and find the lowest price.

There was a time in my life that I did a good amount of QVC shopping. Mostly when DH was gone for periods of time.

I can gladly say I no longer need them. :goodvibes I don't watch anymore, but I do like their Northern Nights flannel sheets and their custom made-to-fit jeans, so I just go online and order them.

I've found their prices are not that great. However, DH was looking for a small camera that fit our list of criteria. While flipping channels recently, he spotted one they had on clearance and ordered it. Its a great camera and was about 1/2 the price of everywhere else online. I still wonder what's supposed to be wrong with it. :rotfl:

They usually do kits that are great prices. My dh ordered me the todays special value a few weeks ago and it had 2 shadows, lip gloss, blush.mascara and some other stuff for under 38 bucks. They also had a set of 2 eyeshadows for only a few dollars more than 1 is sold at Sephora and Ulta and they were out of the color I wanted in the stores and had it on Qvc.The shipping on the make-up is usually under 4 dollars which still brings it under cost of the store and they have the payment broken up into 2 payments alot of the time. That is usually the only thing I order.
