Next year we are thinking of driving. Airfare for 4 of us this year was 1500.00 We probably can drive to Disney and back for 750.00 that includes food and lodging for 2 nights maybe even cheaper. Has anyone done a 24 hour drive with 2 little ones. My oldest I think would be ok it is my youngest. Any suggestions post them please? If we find decent airfare we will probably book that but this year we waited to long.

I didn't make the ride with them, but one year my sis drove from Michigan to Orlando with her 3 kids. They youngest was 4 at the time. After the trip, when you would ask her how Disney World was, she would tell you about the horrible ride in the car. :sad1:

Now I think that was her 3rd trip to Disney, and she had flown at least one other time. So maybe that made a difference. But for a long time after if you asked her if she want to go back to Disney, she would say that she didn't want to ride in the car for that long again!

I just check airtran flights and the at around 84.00 each way for Febuary. I'm going to book it as soon as March comes out to get a good deal. No waiting til the last minute this time. So hopefully we will be flying.

A guy in my office just adopted both of his granddaughters in the last year.

The first time they went, they did drive. They had the first granddaughter at 4 years of age; she is very, very, very mature for her age. In addition to his wife, his MIL also came along. We are in DE, they stopped and spent the night in GA, and didn't have any problems, but it did take them two days to get down there.

Their oldest is now 6 and the youngest is now 4, so they went again a few weeks ago, and this time they flew. They said it was so much better, since from BWI, we are two hours gate to gate. And they both loved the experience.

We drove our first trip down tho the world. We split up into 3 days. This was good but we could have done it in 2. On the way home the kids had had it about 14 hours into it so we stopped for the night. Once the kids are asleep in the car, it is good, but getting to that point is rough. We have flown since, but this year airfare and car rental is about $1500. we can drive for alot less.

I would rather fly for sure. But we won't be paying 1500.00 again for sure. Plus we stayed over night at the airport so that cost us another 200.00. My brothers were both away for work and my parents and my niece left the day before for Disney. So here is hoping airtran will pull threw.
