Do you think it will be worth it to try to go to DL?

I have an upcoming trip to San Diego. I will be staying about 7 miles north of the San Diego airport (Mission Valley area) and will be getting in to the airport at about 10:30 am on Wednesday October 27. Given that DL will probably close at 8:00 (and DCA at 6:00) that night, and considering traffic and travel time, do you think I would be crazy to try to drive up to DL for the rest of the day?

You should be ok. Traffic is bad during morning and after work rush hour. Other than that, it's doable. I say go for it!

We are going to be in San Diego on Business in Sept and have a free day....guess where were going!!! We did this last year too. We drove up early in the morning and drove back to San Diego around 3 to catch our return flight home. We did both parks and were able to do everything we wanted to do. We were there on a Monday in the end of Sept and the park was pretty empty so we walked on almost everything. I couldnt be that close and have some free time and not get a little Disney fix!

Just noticed where you live. I live in Simi Valley too. I am surprised to find someone else on these boards so close. Howdy neighbor!

Hi neighbor!
What are the odds of finding a member so close?! Astronomical...well, not really but you know what I'm getting at. I wonder if anyone has tried to organize a Disneyland day for disboard members? Hmmm....

We would be interested in a meet at the parks. We have AP's. Just got back last night from two days there. Lots of changes - the castle mostly looks interesting wrapped in blue. : ( Once the kids start school though my life changes - it's carpools galore etc.

Still excited to find a fellow DIS'er in my city!

PS We live in the Texas Tract

We were there not too long ago ourselves for my neice's birthday party. Our kids had a great time, of course. Actually, they can't wait until our first trip to WDW next year! It's a ways away but it gives us time to save. I know this is getting OT, but we actually live in the Wood Ranch area. We absolutely love it here. It's so beautiful and plenty of places for me to train on my bike.

Like Em said...DL is always worth a trip if you can swing it.
Have a great time, hope you can go:)

Thanks for all the support. I'll play it by ear and see if I get in on time. But it looks like it might be a fun and doable option.
