Do you think it will be hard to get ADRs for later this month?

If I plan a last minute trip for my husband and I for our birthdays? I have been pouring over these boards (love them) planning a trip for late next year with our kids, but found super cheap airfare for this month, so I am toying with the idea of planning a last minute trip just for dh and I in the meantime (you all got me super excited).

If we stay on site, we would do the dining plan. The only thing that is making me nervous is the thought we wouldn't be able to book the places we would like to eat (not sure which places those would be yet). We are looking at maybe the 20th - 24th (or 23rd).

Any thoughts?

You never know. If you have your heart set on the more popular spots, it might be difficult. I'd make up my mind as quickly as possible and call, call, call.

There's always something available, but it may not be conducive to your tastes or park plan sometimes.

I think you would find it difficult to get into Le Cellier and some other more popular places.

You won't have a problem finding places to eat IF you are flexible with your times ! If you don't mind having early or very late dinners, you can get ressies to a lot of popular places (with the exception of Le Cellier)!
Have a great time !

I would suggest one thing. Decide where you would want to eat now, and call and make ADRs as soon as possible! You can always cancel them with no penalty if you don't end up going. You do have the benefit of only having 2 people in your party, so you may be able to get some decent times at some good restaurants (lunch is much easier to get than dinner), but the closer it gets the less availability there will be.
I hope you get to make your trip, it is great to get away for an adult only vacation now and then. Enjoy!

I say go for it!! In the past, we have called before making any reservations for our hotel and made dining reservations with no problems. When asked, just tell them you are trying to make a decision regarding which hotel and they will ask for your home phone number as a link to your reservation. If you decide not to go, then just be sure to cancel the dining reservations.

Also, I've called to change a couple of dining ressies in the last two days and as the previous poster said, if you're flexible you'd be surprised what you can get. In addition to that, people cancel reservations every day so call until you get something close to what you want. Good luck!

Get to Disney! You'll love celebrating your birthdays there! Don't forget to ask for your birthday pins as you enter the theme parks. When seen, you'll be treated like gold by the CMs.

A suggestion is call Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE) before calling to book the trip. Simply ask what availability looks like for the restaurants you'd like, at the times you'd like, first. If you like what you hear, call to book the trip with DDP.

Have fun, and happy birthday!

The only ones I had a problem with were Coral Reef and le Cellier.... always a problem. I did finally get them though. You might not get the times you want, but keep trying. Good luck.

With Only 2 people, it may be easier to squeeze you in thean a bigger party.

I had to change my reservations from two people to three yesterday for starting Friday the 8th. YIKES I was sure that it wouldn't go well. It was great.I was able to change almost all of them and luckily Le Cellier was a 2 or 3 person table so they didn't have to change the ressi at all. If you eat early, 4:00 to 5:00 you will probably be fine. We changed Concourse, 1900 Park fare, Boma, Kona, Coral Reef. They offered me 9pm times too. I took the earlier ones which is what I had been looking for.

We are going the 20-30th of this month and I have had an incredibly tough time and I call all the time and often (sometimes daily!!). I do have three adults and one child and an infant i na high chair, so bigger party. I had everything planned and was willing to take any day for some and still did not get Le Cellier or O'Hana or Chef Mickey. I am still trying for the Norweigan character b'fast too. I have alot of resssies for sdinner between 8-9, which works for us, but may not for some. 5-8 was virtually impossible. Even WCC had to be 8:30pm for dinner. Cap'n JAcks was really hard to get into also!! It is adults only too.

I still call every other day to try and change things! And I have not been the lucky recepient of a CM call either!

You guys are sweet. Thanks! I am back, we didn't go for our birthdays (dh couldn't handle spending the $ to go to Disney without our kids, so we went to Montreal instead. Lol).

BUT, I just got super cheap airfare for January for the whole family, so I am now on a new mission......
