DO you think incentives will be offered for SS from the first sales day (Aug 4th)?

I'll be there until the 7th and have toyed with buying for a long time and maybe this is finally the time. Would there be an opening week special or anything?

They will have to have some kind of incentive to buy now for a resort that's not opening for months. When they pre-sold BCV they offered the option of a discount or so many free nights at a WDW resort. The more points you bought, the more free nights you got. It will probably be available for longer than a week, they have a harder sell with SSR. BC had a loyal following because of Stormalong Bay and the closeness to Epcot. Members were dying to add-on. I don't think that will be the case with SSR.

It seems DVC almost always has a special. So to answer your question, yes I do think they will have a special when sales start.

I was just at Disney. Yesterday morning I was at Downtown Disney MarketPlace and looked across the lake at the construction of Saratoga Springs. All I can say is, "WOW!" It should have a lot of great waterfront views. This place will be massive. I think DVC has a winner on its hands.

I agree, I own at BWV and VWL. I could not see adding on at BCV because of the simular qualities with BWV. I think SSR will have a uniqueness like VWL. I think the finished product is going to surprise alot of people.

I agree. FWIW, I remember lots of negative posts about BCV while it was being built. Lots said they wouldn't buy there because of things like "road noise". Have seen very few negative posts about BCV since it opened, though (except for a few reports of poor treatment which can be found for all resorts). I expect the same thing (negative before it opens and positive afterwards) to happen for SSR. IMHO, the location will appeal to many.

Am very interested in the point schedule. Although I've read reports that state a guide or two say it will be between OKW and VWL/BCV/BWV preferred, I think it is going to be the same as BCV. Time wil tell.

By the same token, will many OKW owners have much incentive to add-on as SSR? They have similar location advantages, much like BCV and BWV. As a new OKW owner (we close in 3 days!!!) I'll be more tempted to add-on with a resale at BCV or BWV for the advantage of having points in two advantageous locations.

Congratulations ! OKW is great and I agree with you, but the majority of new members with single contacts own at BWV, VWL and BCV. I think DVC know's how popular SAB is and I bet SS pool might be nicer.
