Do you think Ernesto will decrease the Labor Day weekend crowds?

Any effect?

No effect?

WE are arriving Friday night and are staying thru Tuesday.

Nope no change in "normal" crowd level for that weekend. Possibly more if any Floridians lose power. And, since the next system they are watching is still far away.

Unlike Wilma, which caused HUGE influxes of Disney guests, this storm is not expected to be a huge, damaging storm. It will cause some power loss but because the winds are not expected to down the actual power poles, I dont even see people who lose power, going more than one day without power.

I dont think many people will be evacuating, considering that schools likely will only close a day or so.

I'll be there for a PRE planned vacation, up from Naples, Fl.

My personal opinion, and estimate from the way I see people reacting is that this is no big deal. Though everyone is getting gas, not many people are too concerned about this storm.

However I think it will STRONGLY reduce the volume of guests from up north. There are already reports in Orlando that vacationers that are here are leaving.

I just think that people who were planning a trip (not all, but some) from up north, may reconsider, or change their dates.

Of course, some will always come down.

However, I think crowd volumes this week are already going to be pretty manageable even without the storm. I know that even though alot of far norther states dont start school until after Labor Day, that Florida already started and schools in NC (verified with my dad), and TN are back in session this week, so levels will reduce even more from last week.

I think the crowds are going to be pretty low.

Some of us are leaving today (not me :furious: ) But I do get to leave Thurday morning BEFORE NOON!!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Two ways to think about this...

1). FL residents who planned on an extended weekend might change plans due to weather (go another weekend)

2). FL residents who had not planned on going to WDW are now to get out of Ernesto's way.

It's always a toss up.

True but, as a South Florida resident, there's not much talk of worry around here. We're used to running from category 3 storms and higher, and as of the 11:00 am update today the storm is still barely even a tropical storm.

I dont know anyone here who is evacuating, meanwhile with Wilma, most of the entire city evacuated.

Just FYI,

I plan on being at the Magic Kingdom tonight (leaving work today at 4:30 to start our trip) and as soon as I get back to the hotel, I'll post how the crowds look.

According to the weatherman here in Maine, WE may see remenants of Ernesto this weekend. That means it will be long gone from Florida by the holiday weekend.

What about the tour groups coming down- like the Tom Joyner Reunion. Is all of that still going on?
