We have our third trip to Disney planned, just love it there, and decided since we will be in
Florida for 8 days that we might want to go to Universal received there video and for on-site hotel guests they have Universal Express ride access all they have to do is walk up to the ride and show there room keys, park passes and they are on the ride with little to no wait.
Wouldn't it be great if Walt Disney World would do the same for there guests staying on site
such a great perk..... What do others think??????? It would be better than a Fastpass and they could use the same line so it could take effect quickly....

97 days Port Orleans Riverside (DL formerly we love it there)

There were "rumors" last year that WDW was considering the perk for deluxe guests. When you would get a FP with your room key it would print a "now" time. I never heard anymore. I don;t even knwo how it really can work since there are so many forms of passes. When all the FP machines went in was when the rumors begun.

Not likely at WDW. One problem is that Disney has over 22,000 rooms (which could mean over 60,000 guests staying on site at one time) and thus doing what Universal does would not likely result in a short line for WDW guests and would likely be worse than fastpass.

drusba is absolutely correct.

This FOTL thing is bogus. US is in deep "do-do" and they are willing to do ANYTHING to take any small percentage of business away from WDW - Even if it means turning their back on their own guests. Why do I say that? Because FOTL is a temporary gimmick that has been prolonged due to the events of 9/11 & the following tourist fall-off. Once their hotels & the parks fill up, this extra is gone...This promo severly punishes the majority (day guests who can't participate) and will be very noticable if US ever gets busy enough to actually have conistent lines... FP is a fair system...

A guy I work with spent a weekend at the Portofino at the end of January. They used FOTL, but he said it really wasn't a big benefit because the regular lines were short too.

With all the WDW resorts, I can't see them doing it. Universal only has 3 resorts so it is more manageable.

Screamscape reported (maybe a year ago) disney was considering a VIP pass that would give you a FP with an immediate return time. Disney has too many hotel rooms to give everyone FOTL type of access. EE and E nights were Disney's alternative to FOTL. I suspect if Disney does anything it will have an extra charge and/or only be for deluxe and/or conceirage guests.

I was talking to a CM about "pre-issued" Fastpasses as a onsite perk and the CM said basically it would never happen, since Disney does not want to give extra perks like this to only a certain group (on site guests). So I wouldnt count on it.
