I was wondering what your experiences are with airtran. Right now the tickets I want are 100.00 one way or 200.00 RT. We will be flying Sept. 5th, do think there is any chance they will drop lower ? I know I got tickets last year for 59.00 one way. I cant remember how in advance I reserved those. Anyone have any guesses on it ?:confused3

100.00 sounds pretty good we tried to wait one year and it ended up pretty bad we waited and had to pay a much higher price

We flew Artran last year to and I think we got our Arirfare for 82.00. We went with another airline for our upcoming September trip because airtran was too expensive. I know they merged with Southwest airlines so I am not sure if they will go down or not.

I booked our airfare on AirTran last month after seeing fares on various airlines go up. AirTran is still running about $100 each way on our tickets. They have gone up & down a few dollars each, but I have not seen anything more than that. Fares on other airlines are still all over the place. We opted to book at $200 RT - we were and still are happy with the rate.

We often see very low airfare in September here out of Wash.DC (Dulles & BWI). That goes the same for car rentals in September too.

here's a thought...We got our airtran flights through expedia. They have bargain fares that pop on when you search if they are available. I just doublechecked the total flight time to make sure it was a direct flight. A 5 minute flight change from AiRTRAN allowed me to change directly with airtran to the earlier flight I really wanted.
