Do you think after the 50th, they will bring back the Main Street Electrical Parade??

I'm sorry but I am sick of watching Spectromagic I want the original back!!!! It isn't that Spectromagic is bad but the music and feel of MSEP is just awesome - even my dd who has never even seen it in person, listens to the music on her disney cd over and over again!!!

I just hope they switch with California Adventure soon!!!

I remember when it came back, I think it was 2000 - oh, it was GREAT

Anyone else interested in it coming back????

Where did you hear this? Before it went to DL, it was in Paris, the newspaper around here had a picture on the cover of the travel section and reported it was the final week and than Disney was putting it away FOREVER. My DD cried and wanted to know if we could leave for Paris that day I had seen it many times as a child and it's my favorite. We have all the collector pieces and CD and often "run it on our own" in our house. We were also lucky enough to get into the press event a few years back in WDW but have been told over and over it's not coming back.

Please make day and give me a source....Spectro just doesn't do it for me

I'm with everyone that wants MSEP back. Spectromagic is ok. I've seen it four times but I still have MSEP music in my head, it was so much better.

We've been going to WDW as far back as 1988 and don't think we've ever seen the MEP there??? We did see it at DL last summer and I agree--wonderful and magical!!! Maybe it was just because it's different! I hope they bring it to WDW soon. Spectramagic has just been around too long.....

Oh, probably not as much as most of us MSEP fans think But I guess it's the music, the floats, and the "lower-tech" feel of it. (Spectro seems to be more fiber-optics, if that's the right word, whereas the MSEP is good old fashioned Christmas lights.) Probably what's most different are just the memories many of us have of the MSEP.

PS...in case you didn't guess, count me in with those who'd LOVE to see the MSEP return to the MK. DH has never seen it and I would love to share it with him!!!

For the poster asking what the difference is, to me it was just the childhood memories of it, the music in my ears for months after we have left, the simple but wonderful floats. I also felt there were much more lighted walking characters greeting the crowds which was so magical. I find that Spectromagic only has Peter Pan, Mary Poppins and Pluto. MSEP just seemed more interactive IMO - also the HUGE flag at the end was so great, made you proud to be an American!!!

I think CA needs Spectromagic anyway - it would be nice to change it up. I don't think they will NEVER bring it back though - it was WAY too popular for them not to. They did bring it back one time. In May 2000 I watched and it was AWESOME!!!

I have the VHS tape of it - not me recording it, an actual tape of it and the behind the scenes kinda thing - purchased it on Ebay and my daughter watches it ALL THE TIME and listens to the music in the car ALL THE TIME - and she is only 3

I think Spectro originally started at WDW for the 20th anniversary in 1991. Then MSEP came back for the Millenium Celebration in late 1999 to I think 2001. Then Spectro returned. So it's not like MSEP was at WDW and then went to CA for the 50th anniversary, it's been gone for some time.

Does anyone remember that way back waaaaay back the light show on Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon used the MSEP music? That's when I first fell in love with the song.

I always take in the MSEP when I'm at DCA, sometimes more than once during a trip.

It is my most favorite parade in the 'World'. I have many fond memories watching it.

Spectomagic is good but it just isn't MSEP.

We were there the last day that they had it going and it was my first time seeing it actually, we never stayed for the parades before. It was wonderful! I hope they bring it back
