Do you think a golf cart/car rental is necessary if staying @ Fort Wilderness

Hi!

I've reserved a golf cart for the week of June 27th but the cost is really bugging me. My main concern is trying to get to the parks before they open. I figured a golf cart would help get us to the park buses/MK boat faster than the internal buses. Is this true? Should I waste the money just for the early morning ease? Does anyone know of a reputable off-site golf rental service to compare rates?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

We have never actually stayed at the Fort, but after doing research on the campground- my DH actually convinced me to let him buy a cart! He did get a great deal on it and just about everywhere we camp allows use of them. I had a back/hip injury which makes walking hard enough let alone riding a bike anymore- so we figured all the walking at the parks would be hard enough for me- this way We can get around easily enough and after a long day at the parks wont have to wait for a bus to bring us back "home" Also- we have already booked 5 trips to the Fort (we are Passholders) so I know it will "pay for itself" in just a few trips :-) :thumbsup2

On our trip down in 2007 we didn't have a cart and I sure wish we would have... I decided that along with a good father-son project it would come in handy around the house so I went and bought one. Used the flip down seat this morning and moved about 800lbs of firewood that I would have had to carry last year one log at a time!! My back is saying thank you thank you thank you!! :lmao: Taking my lunch break now then back out to cut up and move the rest of it to the pile for spliting.
On our trip in August it WILL be going with us and I know my feet will be thanking me then!! After walking all day in the park then getting a chance to sit on the boat or bus my feet didn't want to walk back through the loop to the camper and if the kids were tired I was carying them.. Had to carry both twins and our "goodies" back from the boat to 300 loop last time... barely made that one!
So in my opinion.. "Do you think a golf cary/car rental is necessary..." YES:banana:

trips 1 & 2 we rented GC's. Trip 3 we decided to bring our bikes. Would have been ok except 2 times coming back to FW late, it poured, very unhappy little girls in tow.....

Plus I might have over enjoyed the margaritas in Epcot, made one trip on the bike back from outpost rather difficult...I could tell by the DW laughter, I was a sight!

This june, we have already reserved a GC
