Do you think 7 year old girls are too old for Calico Critters?

Also, in case you didn't know, there is a compatible but much more affordable set available at Target (made by Battat) called Lil' Woodzeez. Calco Critters is better quality and so we have a mixture of the two. Would suggest these two items:

They run about $25/set.
Have fun shopping (and playing!)

Those darn Lil'Woodzeez. They're Calico Critter wanabes. LOL!!!! I'M KIDDING!!!:rotfl2: Seriously, I see them every time I go to Target and adore them. I was going to buy the Lil'Woodzeez treehouse for my 3 year old, but that was until I went to Toys R US and saw Calico Critters. I do think Lil'Woodzeez is a good alternate though. I really want to get the treehouse for a neighborhood girl who's turning 4 in March. Her family's poor, and she doesn't have a lot of toys. I did want to get her a Calico Critters house, but with them being SO expensive, I don't want to make her parents feel bad.

I agree completely! The CC stuff is definitely better, as it should besince it's twice as much. But, if CC was our only option we wouldn't have nearly as much to play with, som
I'm glad we have bofh available.

Very sweet about your neighbor!

Aww, those look a lot like a series of toys that I had when I was a kid in the 80s, called Maple Town. I was definitely still playing with them at the age of 7!? Sigh, kids grow up so fast these days....

My girls are 7 and 10 and play with the especially my 7 year old. She is big into pretend play with tiny animal/figure toys. My 12 year old niece still has some.she likes to make movies with them.,

When your older daughter does stop playing with them, the younger daughter still can, so it isn't like they'll be wasted. :goodvibes

My dd 10 never liked them but loves lps still plays with them. Heck she still has her favorite little people in her room.

I still have stuffed animal from childhood I'm not ashamed to hug it sometimes, hubby has few Star Wars toys too and we both make them walk across the table and shot each other.

You never know she might love them and play with her sister more with them.

Thank you again everyone for your responses. :goodvibes I went to Toys R US this morning and bought DD7 The Calico Critters Adventure Treehouse set. If she doesn't like it, DD3 can have it. If DD3 doesn't like it, heck, I'll play with it!
