Do you take your video camera?

We've got 2 girls (age 3 and 8) and are trying to decide if we should take the video camera. Do you take a video camera with you? If so, do you take it to all the parks or just on certain days/parks/etc? Also, can you take it on rides? If not, where do you leave it? Any opinions/advice would be much appreciated!

I would definitely bring a video camera! Epsecially if you have kids. We always bring a video camera, and we have tapes from Florida when my sister and I were little and it's so much fun to watch now! When we take it, we don't usually bring it for the whole day. We'll usually bring it maybe in the morning, and when we go for our afternoon break, we'll bring it back to the hotel. And you are also allowed to take it on rides (I don't know if there's any rides you can't bring it on). We usually record on some rides (not any dark ones) and that's sometimes fun to watch afterwards too.

I would definitely take the video camera. We were there in Oct. of 1999 and happened to see NSYNC @ Epcot my DD (10 yo) was so excited we have excelent video of the guys backstage. The battery was low but it was great to have. Taking the vidoe camera is a must in my eyes!!!

Take your camera, definitely! Out of 4 trips, we didn't take one, once and of course, this is the trip no one remembers. You can tape many, many things and when you can't, just take it with you on the rides. They're so small and lightweight now, you barely notice them. I looked around for the thing so many times, I can't remember, only to find I was carrying it many of those times!! I did however have trouble keeping up with the battery and blank tape situation. Extras were always at the hotel and one day I needed the extra battery and the next day, I needed the blank tape! Had to buy ONE VHS tape at AK for $6! (Got 2 for $6, with a rebate at home but, left the tape in the hotel room, like I said!) We viewed our ongoing tapes at the hotel 2 or 3 nights that week and showed our tapes to family the night we arrived home! Grandparents love seeing the littlest ones enjoying their *first* trip! I found myself fast-forwarding thru the "I thought" boring parts and my parents were screaming "Hey, we want to see this!" Again, take it with!

Take the Camera !!
My 3 yearold DS has been to WDW 3 times and our tapes are his favorte to watch. You might not remember the look in the childs eyes the first time they see Mickey until you watch for the 200th time. Our last trip Parker was 2yr 2 months and we Video of him Dancing with Mickey at chef Mickeys, coloring with Chip at Cape May,
Hopping with Tigger at Epcot , looking up Minnies dress at MK, and so on and so on. these are things that without a camera you will forget.
I can not wait till Dec when we go again, I am sick of watching what is known as Mouse Tape.

Definitely bring the camera. I generally bring it with me to the parks every day and stash it in a locker till I need it. There are occasions when I've taken it on rides and just stashed at my feet. I've never tried recording on one of the rides yet but I think I might take on that challenge next.

Absolutely!! You will kick yourself if you don't. We took ours in May and I thought I would only use it once in a while.....about 8 hours of tape later... We had a view that could not be beat and we caught some of our ds' cutest moments on the tape. She is 2.5 and was moving so fast we only got blurs of her with the camera. I love those videos!! And as someone said before, you will find it really isn't in the way. I even taped on some rides with no problems and on those I didn't I never found it to be a nuisance. Have a great time!!

Bring the Camera!!! I asked the same question on these boards about 2 years ago. I am so glad that a gentleman on these boards talked me into taking my video camera. Our very first day in MK both of our DDs were asekd to ride the Dumbo ride with Mickey and Minnie. And although they enjoy the pictures, they LOVE to watch the video of it. We didn't bring the camera with us everyday but glad we did that first day. There are a couple of things I would recommend...1st, be sure to put your name on your camera and film!!! 2nd, be sure to take your film out of the camera when not in use. When we left our camera in our hotel room we took the film out and put it in the safe, That way if for some reason if someone just had to have our camera at least they wouldn't have the film. The camera can be replaced but the film already taken can not!!!
