Looking at taking 4 adults and 3 kids in October 2024. We took other daughters and grandsons in 2023 and had a heck of a time coordinating parks with days we were there.

If you're referring to the park reservation system, the answer is no - after 1/9/2024, that changes for people with regular, date-based tickets. You should not need park reservations and the park hopping restrictions (2PM) will be gone. But if you have an AP, park reservations will still be required - at least as of today. There's good information about the changes on the Disney site.

Assuming you are talking about WDW then the info provided by thanxfornoticin is correct. If you are speaking about Disneyland then there are no changes currently announced and park reservations are still required for the forseeable.
